TTC after coil removal

I had a coil removed on the 13th November to TTC. No period yet, no bleed at all. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and knows anything about how long your period took to return or any ovulation symptoms? It's early days but difficult to track anything with nothing to go off.
Also, if anyone has been in this situation before with other children, how long did it take to conceive?
Thanks all.

It took me 6 months to conceive DS1 after having my coil removed; I don’t think I was ovulating for the other months though. I do have endometriosis though, so that could have contributed. I am TTC DC2 now, but this is first month trying and I had coil removed in May.

Did you have periods for those 6 months? Thanks for your response 😁

I had a “period” within a week of having it removed then another about 6 weeks later and after that they were normal (for me, mine have always been irregular)

I got my coil removed last November but went onto the mini pill straight away just for a couple of months, stopped taking that at the end of Jan this year. My periods didn’t start until April, and for a few months all my cycles were 32 days. Until we properly started TTC and my cycles suddenly got longer, 38 days, last one 36 days and my current is now 40 days. Starting to get really down and concerned as before the coil it was about 28-30 days 😩 which is so sad when you’re TTC.

Your period could take a good few months to come back, think it usually takes a while for your body to readjust

Awwwww I think last time I TTC I was on the mini pill and it took 3 months for a period. I was hoping it would be quicker this time 😂 wishful thinking!

It is annoying when TTC and all you think about is cycles etc so even more so when you don't know what's going on and can't track isn't it?

I had my coil removed and fell pregnant the following month without having a period. So not long at all for me…

Did you know you'd ovulated or what cycle day you were on or did you just test the following month and it was positive?? How exciting!

@Russell19 I had the mirena coil out 2 May 2024 and had a bleed about 3 weeks later. That only lasted 2 days and was very light. Definitely ovulated the next month as that's when I started tracking. We only tried for a few months and stopped in August after I got a new job. Started again in January 2025 and caught first cycle. That unfortunately ended in miscarriage and was followed by another loss. Caught again in July's cycle and I'm almost 20 weeks now 🤞

Looking back, I'd tell myself in May 2024 not to put such pressure on it happening as soon as the coil was out. I remember being so upset when nothing happened those first months. Wonderful if it does, of course, but give your body time to adjust.

Good luck 🤞

I got pregnant the day I had my implant removed. I never had a withdrawal bleed.
This was 10 years ago

I had the copper coil removed at the end of May and fell pregnant in August so didn’t take long x

I had no idea, I was waiting for my period to start again but started feeling really sickly and took a test on a whim. I was shocked to see it was positive. DD is nearly 7 now. ☺️

I'm trying to tell myself this too but it's so bloody hard isn't it?! Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️
