Has anyone been successful in getting pregnant after partner's treatment for testicular cancer in the tubes?

Hi Everyone.

In December last year by boyfriend found out that his cancer had returned (he had cancer before we met, but confirmed fertility has returned) and that it had come back in the tubes rather than testicles. They were going to do a full vasectomy and said we should prepare to store frozen for future IVF attempts but at the last minute they decided to try to preserve fertility and scrape the tumours out.

This has left the tubes thin and they said that although there is a chance we could fall pregnant naturally, it might not happen.

I turned 35 this year and we have agreed to start officially trying in December as I'd like to have a good record of how long we have tried if we have to start looking at help (I have been off birth control for a year already but pretty sure we haven't hit the right timings most months so far) .
Long story short lol, has anyone been through similar and managed to fall pregnant naturally? Trying for my first.

Sorry you're going through a tough time. If you've been off the pill for a year already and haven't got pregnant with regular sex then I would look at IVF at this point. Unfortunately he's up against it, and age isn't on your side either so time is of the essence. Best of luck to you both.

A friend of mine did. It took them six months but it took us the same when I came off birth control so I think that’s pretty standard.

They’ve got two children now, both naturally conceived.

Best of luck!

This is really good to know thank you. I know odds aren't in our favour but it gives me hope 🙂
