TTC after a TFMR

Hi Everyone, we recently had a termination for medical reasons with my little boy being delivered at 18 weeks, it has been an awful time for us as a family. Looking for anyone’s experience of trying to conceive post a TFMR, how long people waited to try again, what cycles looked like and how long it took couples to conceive again. Thankyou 💕

Heya, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. There’s a couple of us on a WhatsApp group for loss who are all really supportive and understanding of each other. We have lost pregnancies for a number of different reasons and are trying to conceive again and some already have. Feel free to join if you’d like as talking to people who have been through the same thing as you can definitely help

I'm so sorry for your loss OP. I had a tfmr at 16w three years ago (today actually). My cycle went back to normal almost straight away and we started trying after my first period.... took 18 months to conceive again but suspect that was down to other, unrelated, factors. That pregnancy went without a hitch and I now have a gorgeous 9m old who loves terrorising his big sister.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss OP, sadly I can empathise. I had a TFMR last June at 22 weeks. Our little boy had a heart defect and we had to make the devastating decision that no parent ever wants to make. We took a break from TTC for 6 months although we didn’t prevent pregnancy during that time, we weren’t actively trying. I got pregnant again at the start of May but sadly suffered a miscarriage in June.

We are still trying but it’s now been 2 years and 2 losses which is difficult to deal with at times. We so want our rainbow baby but sadly time isn’t on our side and I’m not sure how long we can go on for to be honest.
