WANTED: line eyes!

Just that really... anyone else seeing a squinter?

I am 7/8 DPO and feeling "something" this cycle. My breasts are getting increasingly achy of the last few days and I have twinges in my abdomen. Far too early for AF.

Also, I normally have some light spotting in the second half of my cycle (all checked and fine) and absolutely none this month.

Aware it's far too early to be testing but if anyone else is addicted to this madness please let me know what you think!

hey OP 👋🏼 I do feel like something is catching my eye 🙏🏼 Keep us updated ✨

FirstatNearlyForty · 23/10/2025 09:49

Thanks for the reply!

I can definitely see something in real life. This waiting is torture isn't it. Confused

ohhh yes!! I do!! And I use these tests so I know their lines well. They can get very barely detectable (I’ve measured hcg going down as well as up) and I’ve never, in probably 100 tests gotten a false positive. That line is discreet but there.

RainbowUnicorn94 · 23/10/2025 09:57

Oooh yes, I know what you mean! Hopefully it gets darker 🤞🏻🥰

FirstatNearlyForty · 23/10/2025 10:13

@RainbowUnicorn94 yikes! How quickly do you think the line might darken?

At what point could I obsessively test again?! 😂

Hah, at 7/8 dpo a positive test would stay light but gradually darken daily, but very gently darker. I like to test daily with fmu as it’s sort of fun?? And I say that even with infertility and loss!

These tests don’t get very dark, certainly not quickly. I tested the other day and it was quite a pale line, and my blood test a few hours later showed that my hcg was already at 1432! Considering the threshold is about 10, you’d think it would be dark enough for a decent strength line.

FirstatNearlyForty · 23/10/2025 11:36

I ridiculously tested again there, but not FMU and the test was negative. I need to try and be patient but I'm so anxious to know...aren't we all!

That's so interesting about the lines and the blood work comparison. I am so grateful that you responded to my post - you have all the details. ❤️

How are you getting on with your baby journey?

Yes I’d agree with the above comment ☝🏻 These tests are good but not the best for picking up super early lines! So you may find another brand like FRER or Easy@Home show up darker at this point 🙏🏼 HCG tends to rise every 48-72 hours… I used to test every day to track line progression with FMU… but I know others (who have a lot more patience than me) recommend testing every other day so you get the best results 🥰 Do what makes you feel comfortable but try not to stress if the lines on this brand don’t get really dark… I never got a dye stealer on them ✨ x

Orangeroses243 · 23/10/2025 16:35

I cant see like a set line, but do tou know i can see something...like abother poster said like catching my eye. Like maybe a dull line!!
Wishing you all the luck! Keep testing and let us know!! Xx

FirstatNearlyForty · 24/10/2025 07:51

This is this morning - white gap where the line would be?? I don't understand. 🙄🙈

The dye is all over the place! Have you still got the sample? I’d dip another test in.

FirstatNearlyForty · 24/10/2025 08:18

I don't... I'll try again when I can, but might be another wait until tomorrow.

OP posts:
aLogLady · 24/10/2025 08:32

Good luck! If you didn’t use a cup last time def do it this time, as the dye seems to have gone everywhere around the place! Maybe it’ll settle into something more visible.

FirstatNearlyForty · 24/10/2025 09:20

I think it must be a dodgy test - I used a cup and don't go over the "MAX" line.

Did another test and totally negative, but I'd had lots to drink etc. Back to the drawing board until tomorrow.

ach! I hope you’re managing to keep your cool OP :)

They are rubbish tests that’s why. There’s plenty of reviews about them on Amazon and Mumsnet about them giving false positives and it happened to me with them.
