Fertility Acupuncture - TTC

I just wondered if anyone has had any success with this or what are your thoughts?

I have this booked for my next cycle so just wanted to hear people’s opinions 🩷

I did fertility acupuncture alongside multiple rounds of IVF….the only cycle i couldn’t do it due to lockdown restrictions was the only time IVF worked and I had twins! So im a little sceptical of it TBH. I did find it relaxing though

Had it for a while but couldn't really afford to keep it going. I found it relaxing and it helped regulate my cycle after miscarriage but didn't help with conception.

Hi I have posted on another thread recently so you might find other stories if you search.
It definitely helped me - I can’t say that’s why I conceived when I did as it’s too much of a leap but the guy I saw was great and it created this little space of peaceful me time each session where he made me feel way more positive about our chances than any other time.
If you have time / money / inclination it is worth a try - I loved it.
Not Done anything like it since .

I tried acupuncture after my first pregnancy ended in MMC and my cycles went haywire for 9 months and I had a really short luteal phase. I was sceptical but willing to try anything. My cycle regulated almost straight away and then my luteal phase lengthened and I was pregnant on the 3rd cycle after starting. Same again for my second pregnancy - 3rd cycle after returning for acupuncture and my luteal phase lengthened again and i fell pregnant. Now it could all be coincidence and maybe I would have fallen pregnant anyway but I believe it helped me (although it doesn't work for everyone)

I did accupunture and fertility reflexology for ivf cycle one = succesful
Cycle 2 I did accupunture and reflexology and spiritual healing of my womb= freeze all cycle no transfer but ovulated spontaneously despite being on cetrotide to prevent premature ovulation and fell pregnant naturally during ivf cycle . ( miscarriage)
We were trying for 20 years and nothing.
Do I think it helped? Probably a coincidence but I don't believe can harm
I didn't do it any other month to compare I only did them the month of ivf

There is basically no evidence to suggest that it works and statistically that would bear out for me, I did 7 rounds with acupuncture each time and two were successful (and two miscarriages). That said - I'd have paid the woman who did my acupuncture purely for the hour and her supportive conversations alone, let alone whether the stabby stabby did anything to help. She was probably the most supportive single thing I did throughout a very long torturous journey. So go along and enjoy the hour to focus on you!

I've just done my first session of acupuncture for fertility yesterday so I can't speak into whether it works but like tinybeautiful said, the experience was worth it. The specialist was so informed on menstrual cycles, fertility etc and really explained how Chinese Traditional Medicine works.
She tailored the session to me and made me feel positive about the whole TTC process which can be draining. In particular she suspects that I need to focus on increasing blood quality so recommended food/ drink for that as well as certain points on the body to needle. We are doing a session the week before ovulation (so this week for me), and then the week after but if somebodies cycle needs to be regulated, they might need more sessions etc.

I did. I tried 3 or 4 different people until I found one that (a) specialised in fertility; and (b) I gelled with.

My results once using acupuncture were:

1. Successful - miscarried;
2. Unsuccessful - the transfer was a nightmare and took over an hour of the dr trying to place the embryo.

3 and 4. Successful

I'm not going to say that I believe the successful cycles were down to the acupuncture. I'm still a little cynical, but it definitely relaxed me and made the whole thing a more positive for me. It won't work for everyone and it is so important to have someone you like.

I had it when struggling to fall for my 2nd (also I was older) but the month I fell I also stopped BF so might have contrib. I’ve had amazing help with Traditional Chinese Medicine over the years with hormonal things.

I was TTC for 9 months (young, little bit overweight but not majorly, healthy). Had acupuncture and conceived that month.

I came off the pill and didn’t have a period for a few months so I had about 3-4 sessions of acupuncture as I had read that it can sort your cycle out and help your period return. Anyway, my period promptly returned and I got pregnant first time. I’ll never know if it was the acupuncture that helped regulate my cycle or not but I’m pleased I did it - it was also a lovely relaxing hour each week! (Not cheap though but I was prepared spend it to see).

That’s amazing!! That’s what I want it for too, I came off the mini pill in March and my cycles are sooo long so fingers crossed it helps 🤞🏻
