I'll preface this by saying I'm pretty sure I know where this is headed. However just looking for some opinions/support as I navigate the next few days! I've had one early loss before (8weeks), then 3 months later conceived my son who was a healthy pregnancy so had experience of both.

I got a digital positive test a week ago, at what I think was 11 DPO. I duly waited til I missed my period and got a strong FRER positive at 14DPO (pictured). Took one more at 16DPO in the evening, and was reassured things were going in the right direction.

Yesterday (18DPO) I just felt a bit...different. Can't explain it, did a test on a diff brand and the line was so faint as to be virtually non existent with FMU this morning. Steeled myself, got another couple of FRER and the 19DPO pictured is the result of this evening's.

I made my peace with it, however I'd read about hook effect and so in sort of futile experiment I diluted the same pot with half water. Was then really surprised to see the diluted test significantly darker than the non-diluted?! Although still not as dark as previously and I don't think anywhere near dark enough for hook effect?

I know it's time to step away from the tests and let whatever will be will be. Just sharing here for opinions or similar experiences really

Yep could well be a Hook effect, I was thinking that reading your title!
I do think you should step away from the tests now though, you know you’re pregnant so for now that’s all anyone can tell you.
Good luck
