I’m 31 and had my Mirena removed at the end of August 2025. I got a period quite soon after removal, earlier than I expected actually. I tracked ovulation this cycle and ovulated on day 23 (according to a digital OPK), which was my first proper cycle post-removal. We didn’t try to conceive this cycle as we wanted to give my body a bit of time to adjust to the hormone changes.
It’s now day 37 of this cycle and still no sign of a period, but I’ve had negative pregnancy tests (we only DTD outside my app’s ‘fertile window’ just to be cautious). I know it can take a while for cycles to settle after Mirena, but I’m a bit worried as my cycles were usually quite regular even on Mirena, ranging from around 26 to 35 days. I’ve only ever missed a period once in my life, and that was during a really stressful time. I’m otherwise healthy and feeling fine.
How did you all find your Mirena removal? Did you get weird period timings afterwards? How long did it take for your cycles to settle back to normal or for you to conceive?
