Reflexology

I have PCOS and have just stopped the pill to TTC. I don't have cycles and don't expect to conceive without the help of Metformin (that is what worked for me last time) but my GP wants me to try for 3 months and see if I have AF and then she will send me to the endocrinologist if nothing has happened.

So, last night I had reflexology for the first time in 4 years (had it just before conceived DS and thought I may as well do what I can to help whilst I am not on any medication).

The reflexologist was lovely and talked to me for ages about my medical history etc. She concentrated on a point on my big toe which relates to the pituitary gland and an inner and outer point of my ankle which are apparently my ovaries and uterus. Apart from the deep intense pressure when she was working on those specific points it was a really relaxing experience.

During the night I woke with a bad headache and I still have it today. She said I may get some groggy symptoms- something to do with getting rid of toxins - has anyone else had reflexology and had this symptom?

I am going again next Tues then every 2 weeks for a while.

Any other experiences of reflexology?

Hi jane,

I had reflexology after 10 months of ttc, after the first session I definatley felt groggy but was so relaxing and carried on going once/twice a month. You will hopefully start to feel better as you have more sessions. I was told that it was to get rid of toxins as well.

Anyway after 6 sessions I fell pregnant and now I am 27+4 weeks and everything going well so far and have carried on having the sessions as well, which help with aches/pains, etc. I would definately recommend it.

Good luck hun - hope all goes well

Hi JaneandBen I haven't had reflexology, but I get the same when I have facials, from time to time. Once, I got full on flu-like symptoms. I'm told that this is toxins being expelled. Sounds slightly wishy-washy to me, but I can't deny I get the symptoms.
