Am I pregnant?!

I have one daughter who is 5. We had a few miscarriages before she was born and it to took us a while to conceive.

For the last 2 years we have been actively trying for another but had no luck. I had a chemical pregnancy in May last year but nothing since. We had come to the agreement if it happened naturally then great but if not, mentally I don’t think I could cope with fertility treatment and the constant worrying/testing etc and we would be happy with having our girl. The last 3 or 4 months we started talking about my husband getting a vasectomy and calling it a day and we were both set on that decision.

My cycle ranges from 30-36 days and is never regular. I am day 36 today and no period, iv felt like it’s coming but nothings happened. Took a test 2 days ago and it was negative. Iv took another one today and I think I can see a faint line!? (Pic attached!) I know it should be darker by now so trying not to get my hopes up. Has anyone else with erratic cycles tested this late into their cycle and had the same test outcome and it has gotten darker?

We literally booked our dream holiday on Saturday for next year as a way to say right we are officially done trying let’s move onto the next stage of our life! 😂

Hi! After years of infertility (so I tested a lot without any success) I’d say that’s an evap line. I’m sorry.

I took another test last night and it’s definitely a positive and the line is stronger! Honestly still in shock! 😂

I think we’re having another chemical pregnancy unfortunately :(. Although, this is very different from my last one as I’m now cycle day 40 and the last chemical I had ended the day after my period was due. I still don’t feel like my period is coming but the bottom test was this morning so it’s not looking good. Just worried about possible ectopic or PUL. According to my tracker I should be 6 weeks tomorrow although as I said previously my cycles are all over the place and I think I ovulated a week later than the tracker thinks so would be 5 weeks but obv nothing is 100%.

If im not bleeding by tomorrow would you phone the GP or just wait it out and see? When would it no longer be classed as a chemical pregnancy?

If the pregnancy ends after five weeks then that’s the point that it’s no longer a chemical pregnancy. I had a pregnancy ends at 5w5d and that was classed as a miscarriage. Sorry to be so fact focused but it sounds like that’s what you want?

Sadly, there’s nothing that can be done this early. You’ll need your hCG levels monitoring to check your levels are going down and they may want to do an ultrasound to check that the ‘products of conception’ have been cleared. You may need to go to your local early pregnancy unit to get the blood tests and scan done; that’s self referral so it may be worth giving them a call in the first instance.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this; I was devastated when it happened to me. Just because it’s early, doesn’t mean it’s not painful. Look after yourself.

Absolutely not what I want and not sure where about in the post you have picked up on that from?

Iv had 3 previous miscarriages but all between 10-12 weeks and 1 chemical, infertility issues for years. I now just never let myself get my hopes up too early and now I am very matter of fact about things as iv had my years of being fully consumed by it and I can’t let myself go back there. Of course I will be devastated if the pregnancy no longer continues, we have tried every month for 2 years and had given up hope and had shifted our mindset onto the next stage of our lives so this has just totally thrown me.

Thank you for replying. Will phone EPU within the next week if still testing positive but very faint lines and go from there.

Sorry, I meant that it sounded like you wanted information. Not that you wanted a loss! So sorry, that must have sounded terrible.
