Confused over clear blue ovulation tests!

My husband and I began trying to conceive earlier this year. We fell pregnant in June much to our surprise but sadly I miscarried end of July. My next period came after 33 days and I think my cycle is normally 28 days so this was very delayed for me and I know can happen post MC. Since my cycle seemed out of wack I purchased the clear blue ovulation tests (both the pink and purple out of curiosity) and began doing those this month from day 10. After 5 days of high fertility flashing smileys on the purple I finally got a static smiley on day 20?! But no other ovulation symptoms (had cramping day 17?!) so I’m not sure whether to believe it or whether I genuinely have ovulated very late?! And if so is this a problem as I’ve read having a short literal phase can cause recurrent miscarriage :( what’s more confusing is that I did the pink clear blue ovulation tests alongside the purple ones and despite the purple ones showing a static smiley the pink ones STILL show a blank face so that makes me even more skeptical. I would be grateful for any advice!!! Thank you.

I have no answers unfortunately except to say I chatted to a gynaecologist I was working with about ovulation tests and she basically said they are really unreliable.

If you are in peri with fluctuating LH levels they won’t work. You’re not supposed to do them with your first morning wee it’s supposed to be between 10-12 on a four hour hold of urine which is impossible for me.

I’ve given up and am just trying to have sex every other day, but with irregular cycles and never knowing how long my cycle is going to be it’s a big ask!

I’m really sorry about your miscarriage xx
