Hi everyone, setting up a new months thread for those of us who already know weโ€™re out for August. Iโ€™m going on to cycle 3. Hope this can continue to be a place where we can chat and support one another.

@blackberryhill thank you!! Would you recommend testing twice a day AM/PM for ovulation? Iโ€™m going to take them with a pinch of salt I think and try and use my judgement, think itโ€™s just harder this month as Iโ€™m clueless as to where I am in my cycle.

Once my tests start to darken I switch from once to twice a day (usually morning and late afternoon), but it's tricky as you say when you just aren't sure where you're at! Hopefully you get some clarity soon.

@StayingHopefulx I've always found the apps very hit and miss in terms of interpreting the strips - stuff like lighting can throw them off massively, so I've ended up just using my own judgement to rad them. I'd say the second to last one looks close but maybe not quite peak - but if you're only testing once at the start of the day then may be it surged further in the day?

I would definstly say test ovulation multiple times during day. I kept having ovulation pain but faint lines in the morning and missing the fact that I actually generally peak at night time most cycles. And by morning it's already started to drop off. X though for all I know I don't ovulate normal ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

YKM2829 · 04/09/2025 16:51

Potentially I'm 3 dpo, according to pre mom, or Ive not even hit my peak yet according to flo. Haven't ov tested this cycle, so who knows, but been using and inputting data into both apps for years now on and off same account, so it pretty much is spot on usually.

I've been doing some research, and I know some people here (definitely in August thread) mentioned about taking low dose/baby aspirin.
I'm thinking of trying it. From what I can tell there isn't much serious in the way of side effects or interactions on the negative side, and it is widely used in many countries, and alot of medical practises have the opinion of its safe so it can't hurt trying when experiencing reccuring loss.
I'd love to obviously get tested to aww if I actually need it, but my doc still has the opinion of they don't even prescribed progestrone in the UK before 12 weeks..... ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„
So figure there's no harm in trying it?
The only thing that isn't clear is that in the US 150mg and alot in the UK is pretty common dose as far as I can tell, but then also 75-81mg is also common...... Some people say the lower dose is ineffective and 150mg has much more effective rate, while others say there generally no need to take 150mg unless you do have a specific need for that specific dose...
I kinda think F it and taking 81mg a day and see what happens. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

@YKM2829 I've had friends who have taken it whilst TTC on the advice of their clinics, usually where there is concern around lining thickness and blood flow. My understanding is that for most people it falls into the 'can't hurt, might help' camp, with the exceptions being if you have known contraindications like bleeding disorders.

ForGiddyDreamer · 04/09/2025 17:05

Hi everyone I've been following your updates in the background. Just checking in with @SureLook I've been thinking of you today. I hope all went well with the scan โค๏ธ

ChaE05 · 04/09/2025 18:02

@Muddysocks1I'm excited for you! Sending positive vibes your way xx

SureLook · 04/09/2025 18:10

I'm the same as @ForGiddyDreamer I'm following along in the background. I'm hoping for lots of BFPs ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

I had my scan this morning and there's definitely a baby in there this time! Measuring on time, and we saw the little flicker of the heartbeat. I asked about the progesterone, and they prescribed it for me. They said it only helps if bleeding is the cause of losses. It won't help if it's chromosomal or anything like that. I'm still at normal risk of miscarriage like everyone else, so not out of the woods just yet, but it's a bit reassuring, at least!

ForGiddyDreamer · 04/09/2025 18:15

@SureLook Ah I could cry. I'm so happy for you โค๏ธ yes, my GP said same. It won't stop miscarriage if there's an issue but can help with spotting. I hope the rest goes well for you xx

CDD1992 · 04/09/2025 18:16

Oh wow @SureLookcongratulations! That sure is a beautiful little baby growing in there ๐Ÿฉท

overwork · 04/09/2025 19:16

Fabulous! Thatโ€™s lovely to see

Angelyoga · 04/09/2025 19:52

Congrats @SureLook! Enjoy every minute of it!!

Keep us updated!

Angelyoga · 04/09/2025 20:00

Today I had a gyno appointment, and my lining is still thin at 2 mm.
Progesterone at 0.36, prolactin 16.5g/ml, E2 8pg/mL, all pretty low.
He prescribed HRT pills containing Estradiol Valerate and Norgestrel.

I hope this goes well.

Oh no, thatโ€™s rubbish ๐Ÿ˜– always scope for dates slightly out etc or a later Bfp, but I know the feeling well too

LaurLou22 · 04/09/2025 21:21

Iโ€™m sorry :( itโ€™s such a journey isnโ€™t it! It seems I have ovulated a good 6 days later then usual this cycle which has thrown everything into chaos! Feel like I can barely keep up with my body and itโ€™s strange behaviour nowdays!

CityKity · 04/09/2025 22:39

Hi all, Iโ€™m tentatively joining this thread and tipping my toe into TTC baby number 2. Itโ€™s the first month so Iโ€™m not tracking but just trying to DTD as much as possible around ovulation (aka right now). I donโ€™t think we actually hit ovulation day on the nose so letโ€™s see if itโ€™s enough or not in 2 weeks time! My periods are really light these days so alittle bit worried thatโ€™s not good in general, but will wait and see!

I found MN so helpful the first time around so here I am back again. @overwork Iโ€™m sure I recognise your username from Aug 2023 babies?!
Good luck to everyone waiting for BFPs ๐Ÿคž

blackberryhill · 05/09/2025 06:49

Welcome, @CityKity! Hope you have a very short stay here.

PSA for anyone using Easy@Home cheapie pregnancy tests: I took one last night because I'm planning to test out my hcG trigger shot, and there was pretty much no line on it! I had a total panic that I'd somehow messed up the trigger shot and that I'd have to cancel my IUI, so I broke out one of my expensive tests which immediately showed a clear, dark line. Might just be a dud box I'm using but wanted to warn people (because I'm in the rare position where I know exactly how much hcG I should have in my system because I put it in me with a syringe ๐Ÿ˜…).

overwork · 05/09/2025 07:16

Ha! Well remembered hi @CityKity. You must also have a lovely just turned 2 year old then! We are going into our 3rd month. I didnโ€™t โ€˜tryโ€™ the first time (now a happy accident but at the time I needed some convincing) so this is all new to me. If I remember rightly you were in a flux with housing at the time? Hopefully thatโ€™s all come right for you now

CityKity · 05/09/2025 07:57

Great memory @overwork! We moved into our house (after 3yrs of house hunting) last year, so itโ€™s all panned out.
I didnโ€™t try the first time either so this is all new to me too. DH is baby crazy but I told him that itโ€™s a flat out no before DS turned 2 so here we are! Pretty nervous about all situations, getting pregnant / not getting pregnant so just seeing how it goes really.

Any wisdom from your first months of trying? Iโ€™m slightly kicking myself as I started taking pregnacare conceive this cycle and have just read on here that it can lengthen your cycle? I canโ€™t imagine how a bunch of vitamins actually have that outcome, but I suppose itโ€™s good to not be surprised if my period is later than usual.

overwork · 05/09/2025 08:46

I donโ€™t think I should be giving any of my wisdoms as Iโ€™m not pregnant Grin
Weโ€™re trying for sex every other day for about 10 days or so over the fertile period. Iโ€™ve not tried ovulation sticks but I did dig out my old Natural Cycles thermometer last month and when it finally confirmed ovulation it was later than Iโ€™d always assumed so that was useful!
There have been so many success stories whilst Iโ€™ve been on here so Iโ€™m feeling really hopeful for us (but Iโ€™m also 40+ and pragmatic so if it doesnโ€™t happen for us by the end of the year, I think weโ€™ll call it quits. We wonโ€™t be going down the route of investigations etc).
Congratulations on the house! We also finally moved in January but itโ€™s a 2 bed so youโ€™ve got to ask why weโ€™re trying for another baby!

JH20000 · 05/09/2025 09:55

Iโ€™m out for August as period turned up today. Iโ€™ve been really unwell though so wasnโ€™t testing for pregnancy at all as it took a back seat for the last week.

Anyway just popping in to say hi. I didnโ€™t bother tracking much last cycle, however I think Iโ€™m going to track more closely this time around. Iโ€™m now into cycle 3 so still early days.

Iris2024 · 05/09/2025 09:58

Morning girls

@Muddysocks1 Im okay, feeling low. Iโ€™ve bled and digital now says not pregnant so thatโ€™s that. We will be trying again now and will start the LH tests again. Where are you now in your cycle?

@SureLook Im so happy for you darling โค๏ธ how amazing to see babaa on screen and a heartbeat ๐Ÿ’“ Iโ€™m hoping we catch again and it sticks next time.

LaurLou22 · 05/09/2025 10:01

Morning ladies,
1 DPO today and the wait begins. Luckily we have a little holiday next week so that will distract me for the most part! I really have low expectations this month and we barely caught ovulation and it was all over the place. But never mind!
