Hi everyone, setting up a new months thread for those of us who already know weโ€™re out for August. Iโ€™m going on to cycle 3. Hope this can continue to be a place where we can chat and support one another.

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m joining this thread currently on first cycle of ttc and Iโ€™m on CD8.

Is anyone else ttc their second child?

I have PCOS and lost twins at 10 weeks before conceiving my son. Hoping for a smoother journey this timeโ€ฆ

Also TTC second here. Our son just turned 3. How old is yours? We conceived him no problem but had a mc at 12 weeks earlier this year, so am finding it much more anxiety inducing this time round

SureLook · 21/09/2025 17:51

@Iris2024 I'm up and down thanks for asking. I'm very anxious and worried about every little twinge. I can't even remember what my pregnancy on my daughter was like at this stage. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time. We're away to Salou tomorrow for a week so hopefully that will be a nice distraction. I've the NIPT booked for the day after we get back so fingers crossed for then ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป
I wonder are your LH tests picking up some residual HCG by any chance? That can sometimes make them go darker.

Our son is 2.5 years old. Iโ€™m really sorry to hear about your loss, I found my pregnancy with my son incredibly anxiety inducing. Pregnancy after loss and ttc after loss is really hard. Really hoping for a smoother journey for both of us this time!

Ah fairly similar age then โค๏ธ

thank you. Iโ€™m hoping that if it happens for us then once weโ€™ve had the 12 week scan Iโ€™ll be able to settle down a bit. Crazy how much these little people stress us out, even bwfore theyโ€™re conceived ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Iris2024 and @Muddysocks1 Iโ€™ve been thinking of you both. I hope your month is very soon!

Exciting progression, @EmPeEf. I know youโ€™ll be guarding your heart but I have everything crossed for you!

Oops double post!

Iโ€™ve been using proov pdg progesterone strips this month and my progesterone doesnโ€™t look good unfortunately. Clinic said to do a day 21 blood test in the second month but annoyingly not the first. Iโ€™m not sure whether to contact them with the results after Iโ€™ve done the 4 days of test or just wait for next month (as guess they potentially could increase letrozole dose or add progesterone?). Itโ€™s the NHS and just feel a bit like you get the bare minimum.

also though, I did an OPK at the same time and it was 0.47 on premom so a slight spike. Doubt it means anything - I know you can get positive OPKs with pregnancy but Iโ€™m only 8dpo and also I think it would be probably positive/dark test line not like this one. Decided to do a daily OPK instead of early hcg tests ๐Ÿคช

If you donโ€™t mind me asking, how do you know if your progesterone is low? I have been diagnosed with PCOS and a friend of mine had to take progesterone to help her chances of conceiving and to help her body not to miscarry. I wasnโ€™t aware until recently that I have PCOS (symptoms came up after I had DC) but I have lost a pregnancy and I wonder if having PCOS and low progesterone may of been the cause.

EmPeEf · 22/09/2025 09:14

@Muddysocks1 ooh, interesting. Do you happen to track BBT as well? Iโ€™d be interested to know if it went up to confirm OV.

Yes ovulation confirmed by bbt although temps all over the place and and quite low the last two days. Apparently low luteal bbt can also be linked to progesterone. Otherwise pretty standard chart for me other than that ovulation used to be day 14/15 and the last few months have been day 13

So Iโ€™ve done some mid luteal (7 days before period) progesterone blood tests, I got them from Superdrug online, but also at the gp. And then Iโ€™ve also used Proov pdg strips, which are urine dip sticks that you do 7-10dpo. Except I also did a couple earlier after ovulation which are higher then 7/8dpo which isnโ€™t ideal!

Has anyone had issues with easy@home tests? My FR Looks like a dye stealer today by the easy@home is still so light?
Clear blue is saying 2-3 weeks so HCG is definitely rising

Yes, had this issue with my pregnancy with my son. I stopped taking the easy at home tests after a certain point, they didnโ€™t get much darker for me.

Thatโ€™s so unhelpful! Thereโ€™s definitely more you can do with PCOS that might help.
Iโ€™m having acupuncture which is great for relaxation and the treatment, but also if you go to a fertility acupuncturist theyโ€™ll help with knowing what tests to do, what to eat, what supplements, other things that might help. Or lots of info online that might be helpful โ˜บ๏ธ

I have just been looking into it on tommys website. I had brown bleeding for 7 weeks before losing my twin pregnancy and also had bleeding in my pregnancy with my son and 11 weeks. Iโ€™m going to speak to my GP but where do I begin? Do I just speak to them that Iโ€™m looking at getting pregnant again but have had bleeding in both pregnancies, coupled with the fact I have PCOS can I have my progesterone checked? Or tablets? Iโ€™m not sure how it works to be honest! If I can avoid another loss becuase of something like progesterone Iโ€™d definitely happily take it

Could you ask GP for fertility bloods (usually done on day 3) and progesterone (day 21). The challenge with PCOS is whether you ovulate regularly and getting the progesterone test on the right day (needs to be 7 days before your next period). Proov might be a good idea as tests over 4 days so easier to catch, but you need to use OPKs to know when your peak is

Iris2024 · 22/09/2025 12:50

Hi ladies โค๏ธ

@Wifeymatters - I love that line of trusting the soul that already chose us - thatโ€™s beautiful and I will keep that in my head after losing last cycle.

@ttcbubbanumber2 We are on TTC our second. Our daughter is 6 and we conceived her first cycle. Iโ€™m so sorry to hear about your loss of your twins and sending love โค๏ธ

@Digby86 Thank you Digby! Iโ€™m thinking that, itโ€™s just all my hormones still high after catching last cycle. Itโ€™s been so hard to follow. My hormones are definitely still high and maybe still some HCG there even though a digital is negative.

@SureLook Aw lovely enjoy your holiday and keep us updated on this thread wonโ€™t you? Iโ€™m wondering if itโ€™s that but a digital is not pregnant and an easy at home test was negative.

@FarAwayBird Thank you lovely, how are you doing?

@LilacBow45 I found this with easy at home ones last cycle. My clear blue and FRER was darker and the easy at home you had to squint to see it.

I THINK Iโ€™m 10DPO today but to be honest Iโ€™m all over the shop this cycle. If I donโ€™t catch this cycle again Iโ€™m looking forward to hopefully being more in control of tracking again. I canโ€™t bring myself to do a pregnancy test again at the moment.

Yes! I posted earlier in the thread about how awful I've found them recently - I took one after my hCG trigger shot and it was so faint I worried I'd not done the injection right. I switched to Wondfos and they were much better.

Your First Response looks great though, very similar to mine now. I've only got one left and I'm trying to resist the urge to buy another box...

Muddysocks1 · 22/09/2025 14:30

I donโ€™t know whatโ€™s wrong with me after saying I was going to wait until 10dpo, I had one easy at home test left and thought oh Iโ€™ll just do it and then canโ€™t be tempted to test again. Nothing initially but dried with a line. I know itโ€™s most likely an evap! But it does now look how my early lines dried when I had a BFP (and sadly chemical). Trying to rationalise but also a bit of hope is there?

Muddysocks1 · 22/09/2025 14:31

As I say most likely an evap but weโ€™ll see. Only 8DPO so early days ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

This is so cruel if an evap when thereโ€™s a clear line there? Will you test again at 10DPO?

Ive literally got hardly no taste at the moment like i did before my chemical and itโ€™s playing with my head as Iโ€™ve got a little cold too ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ข

Muddysocks1 · 22/09/2025 15:50

It would! Although I know they absolutely say donโ€™t need after the time so I will fully accept if itโ€™s an evap. Iโ€™ve ordered more tests which were meant to come Weds but Amazon says tomorrow, plus I grabbed a clear blue when I did the food shop earlier but will try and resist using those until later as so ยฃยฃยฃยฃ

oh no!!! That is so hard - itโ€™s hard to ignore it when itโ€™s popped into your head too! Iโ€™ve literally been so distracted from work today thinking about it all
