Dodgy test?

10dpo, positive on the cheapies from 8dpo. Took a frer this evening and it's either super squinty or I'm completely imagining it's there. Both tests are from the same pee.
People's thoughts on the reliability of this particular cheapie test? Should they not be looking similar to each other?

What are the sensitivity of the tests are they different from each other?

Flipflopfeet · 27/08/2025 18:58

The bottom is 10mIU, the frer is the 6 days earlier one, I can not for the life of me find numbers for this one though

From what I can see in some published papers first response have 6.3 mIU so it is strange it’s negative. Maybe wait a couple of days and test again (easier said than done I know)!

That's what I've found as well. Its odd, but I'll just have to wait and see what happens... can't change an outcome by testing and comparing (not sure that will stop me testing though 😅)

I feel like I can see a super faint line on the first response one too though xxx

FRER are less sensitive if you take Biotin in your supplements.

if you take Biotin it will show negative whilst the rest of brands are positive

I never knew this, thank you, I've looked online for loads of reasons a test could be so faint and this has never come up before. Interesting that it can effect blood results too!
I've taken the same cheapie and a clear blue with very clear positives, and a 1-2 on the digital but it's still so faint on the easy at home.
I had an ectopic in December so I can self refer to epu and will be calling them Monday for blood tests etc anyway
