Metformin help

Prescribed 1000mg metformin to help with pcos. Took 500mg for a week, mild nausea but felt generally okay as the week went on. Increased to 1000mg a couple of days ago and feel horrendous - severe nausea and headaches. Am taking 500 with breakfast and the other 500 with dinner. I am still taking myo inositol alongside this which GP said was okay to do. Will the intense nausea subside and should I persist or drop back down to 500 for a bit longer? Also how long was it until you started to see the positive effects?🙏

I had nausea/stomach issues for a good month before it settled down. Wasn’t nice but had to just get on with it. Started on 500mg once daily and then upped it to 1000mg daily after a few weeks. I’d keep going at your current dose until you can speak to a GP/nurse if you want to drop. I’ve been it on it for years and after that first month had no further issues.
