If you use the One Step Ultra Earlies, was it positive at 9dpo?

Got a negative on one of these today, period is due on Saturday. These tests claim they can detect 6 days earlier than your missed period so is it likely I'm out for this month or is their still hope?

You aren’t out until AF arrives. If there is a late implantation there might not be enough hCG to detect 6 days early, that’s why the tests say UP TO 6 days earlier, as in that’s the very earliest it could detect IF there is enough HCG. It doesn’t mean you won’t get a positive 2 days before AF or on the day AF is due.

good luck.

Yeah, and everyone (and maybe every individual pregnancy) starts out with a different base level of HCG. Obviously the higher that number, the quicker it doubles to levels a pregnancy test can detect. Someone who starts off at 4 can get a positive super early, whereas someone starting at 1 probably has to wait till their period.

That’s not how it works. It depends on when implantation happens (between 6-12dpo) and then it takes about 2 days to be detectable on a home pregnancy test. So if the baby implants at 12dpo you can get first positive at 14dpo or even later.

Women can have varying levels of HCG when not pregnant to begin with.

Thank you all, that makes sense. Got another super blank one this morning at 10dpo. Not even a hint of anything. Have a gut feeling that this isn't our month but I suppose we shall see...

Yeah but a normal level for non pregnant women is below 5 so the test is negative either way. Not sure what you were trying to say with that comment

I got a positive in May with one step at 9 DPO - pregnancy ended quickly by around 15-16 DPO

I tested negative at 9DPO and didn't test again until 12DPO where I got the faintest of lines. I am not sure if it would have shown up any earlier. These also took ages to get dark for me.
