After OMG yesterday, Oh bummer today

I didn't take a test until slightly late (4 days after due period) due to brown discharge for 2 weeks and didn't think I'd be pregnant as I normally have this before a period. BUT because period just wasn't coming I thought I'd take a test and yes a BFP and not faintly either.
Then last night I had a night shift and I just knew that would cause trouble... My fears were right and by about 5.30 this morning I started getting slight period type pain. Went to the toilet: fresh blood. But then it settled and after my sleep I've got only brown discharge again. But I just have this feeling deep down that it'll come back worse again tonight. I'm worried that this will be the end of a very short pregnancy and I'm soooo sad. I just don't want to go in tonight, I want to be left alone...

Do you have to work tonight ? could you swap shifts ?

A lot of people have early bleeding and continue on to have healthy pregnancies. I hope this is the case for you.

I'm sorry to hear this. I think you should make an appointment with your doctor, just to find out exactly what's happening (it's also useful to have it noted in your medical records if you've had a miscarriage) and phone in sick tonight.

I know I should have phoned in sick, but I'd feel guilty because I'm not actually ill or unable to work and if things got busy then they'd struggle without me.
I haven't felt pregnant and I did with my other 2, so somehow I've been thinking this was something that was coming...
But still it's settled for now, so maybe it's going to be like with my dd when I bled off and on in the pregnancy up until 32 weeks, but on the other hand I don't want a pregnancy like hers again. It's just so horribly stressful.
I'm actually going abroad for 1.5 weeks for my wedding next week, so I wont be able to go to the GP before I leave. Otherwise I would have made an appointment by now. I will go when I get back though, whatever happens.

Ok, Ok. I've done it. I've phoned in sick for the first time in my life... Late, but still. You're all right. I need to stay home tonight and go to bed and rest. I'm not due back at work until Monday on a day shift. It'll be better by then.

Good. You do need to rest, whether you are miscarrying or still pregnant. And I really think you need to see a doctor before your wedding/holiday.
