Hi all.
Me and my husband are going to start trying for baby no.2 around April next year and I want to do everything I can to set myself up for success!
I know nothing is guaranteed but I am on a weight loss journey (Still haha) after my first and already log AF on Flo app. my cycle seems to be very 'normal' 27-29 days and I usually get the EW mucus around the date Flo suggests.

I think I might start taking ovulation tests for a few months before and vitamins.
Can anyone recommend the best to take for me and my husband?
I would love to give us every chance for this to happen quickly as the age gap is already bigger than I thought and I am also MOH in 2027.

Thank you!

Oh it's a minefield Hun! There's soooo much out there and so many different opinions and answers! We are TTC baby 1 at the moment and on cycle 8. However I only started taking pre conceive supplements at about cycle 4 as well as got some pre seed lube which we only started using recently to be honest! Tracking ovulation helps and I've only done that the past 2 cycles. And this cycle am tracking BBT.
I've switched from Flo to Premom so I can record everything there.
Highly recommend the Wondfo ovulation kit from Amazon. I have some cheap ones and the streaks and evap lines were awful on those!

So yeah my advice is: start the vitamins. You and him if possible!

Track ovulation, don't have to go expensive but try not to get them too cheap as you do get what you pay for !!

Track BBT using an app to record data.

Above all else, try not to let it consume you .. because it will!! Haha! I'm currently on DPO13 full of symptoms but BFN this morning...but as they say, I'm not out till AF arrives!!

I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing half the time but in a way...I'm glad.. the pressure is unreal..as a women I feel I should just be able to be pregnant but alas...it's not as easy as they make it sound!!
All the luck in the world 🤞 hope it goes to plan for you!!

No worries! yeah im still learning lots, the premom app helps with certain bits and guides you - i have the free app but if you pay for it it gives you insight reports too! might be worth looking at !

BBT is Basal Body Temperature. i use a thermometer each morning to track my resting body temp and enter that into premom too. it plots a graph and also helps tie in when your ovulating/ovulated as well as can show if implantation has occurred... (again still learning on this one but if the temp keeps getting higher post ovulation is can be a sign of positive implantation!

ooh im 32 amd no babies as of yet!! happy to help where i can or be an ear should you need one! i find it so lonely when my siblings have both already had kids and never even had to 'try' if you know what i mean! just happened!

no BFP this month just AF. so fingers crossed for this next cycle! - this time im trying the guaifenesin method! (may as well give it a go!)

Honestly as someone who has been trying for 18 months (one miscarriage) I would say don’t “try” 😂 it’s consuming.
Eat healthy
Exercise (helps having good endorphins running around your body)
Take a multivitamin for conceiving if you want to, if not just folic acid and vitamin D. This is someone who is spending over £75 a month on vitamins for both of us, it’s not even necessary and they don’t actually have any scientific help for conception but I do it anyway 🙄
Track your cycle using an app like Flo or Natural Cycles or Premom (or use 5 apps like I do cos again, consuming)
And test for ovulation. I use the ClearBlue tests and the premom ones off Amazon just because I like to make sure 😂
Acupuncture is great. Maybe not for conceiving but if you look into a good acupuncturist in your area who understands women’s health and fertility sometimes they are just good therapy sessions and a little bit of space for you. Because have I mentioned, consuming? 😂

Mostly though I’d say go into it having fun and don’t put the pressure on before you’ve even started trying. You could be one of the super lucky ones and get pregnant straight away or it could take a while but I think the pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect about TTC is the biggest stress of it all.

Good luck!! 🤞🏼
