TTC and no idea what is happening with my body…

I had a baby back in 2024 (now 15 months). I didn’t get my period back until about 10/11 months PP as I was breastfeeding. I used to have long cycles (to the point they were bordering on nearly out of the normal range). Since they’ve come back, they’re much lighter and shorter cycles (usually 4 weeks on the dot).

However yesterday, 3 and a half weeks since my last period I had some random bright red blood when wiping. However, it totally stopped within the hour and now there’s nothing at all. TMI but I wore a tampon and it was just a tiny bit of dried blood and I haven’t needed one since but I have cramping. This has never happened to me before and now I’m worried that there’s something wrong with me.

Unsure what this bleeding is and whether it was even my period and now worrying I’ll never be able to have another baby.

has anyone had anything similar happen PP and any tips for getting pregnant on a shorter cycle?

@LondonGirl1992 when did the bleeding start yesterday? maybe try again tomorrow hcg takes two days to rise to detectable levels...

I stopped BF 7 months PP and my periods are still all over the place. Apparently can take up to 18 months for hormones to normalise.

If it’s only your 4th or 5th period since they’ve come back it’s possible they’re still just a bit wonky?

Im 6m PP (didnt breastfeed though) and on a couple of my cycles I’ve had odd early tiny amounts of bleeding some days before my period starts off properly

could also be that you’re pregnant and it’s just too early for a test, nothing you can do but wait and see. Good luck 🤞 xx
