When TTC, how important is it to have an orgasm??

I'm not wanting to get into a debate about my sex life.

What I want to know is whether anyone knows how much having an orgasm affects your chances of conceiving.

This is purely a technical question but I've name-changed as it seems a bit of a personal thing to ask, even on here!

TIA

I think it slightly improves chances (read this ages ago) but if it made a big differnce the population of the Uk would have been in decline foe hundreds of years!

I conceived without one! INfact I loved my married life without one.

I do remember reading somewhere it aids conception but I am not sure if that was conjecture.

I've been told that it makes the chance of conceiving a boy more likely - something to do with changing the environment of the vagina - don't know if that is an old wives tale though.

That's what I was thinking. I knew someone years ago who was quite open about the lack of orgasms in her household but she had 3 kids ...

Well i have a girl so that makes sense!

Tigerschick · 29/05/2008 15:19

I have a girl, almost definitely without one, too; so I guess it does make sense.

I have a ds and a dd without ever having one! Previous marriage now happily disolved!!

Pinkchampagne · 29/05/2008 15:33

Well I managed to conceive two children while married to ex H, so it can't be that important! And they're boys too, which goes against the other theory!!
