Short LH phase help

Since getting my IUD out 6 months ago my cycles have been irregular which is ok with me as I’m tracking Lh/BBT. However, my Lh phase is very consistent and only 9-10 days long. I know this is on the shorter side of normal so I’m wondering if anyone has any tips how I can try and make this longer? I’m taking insitol, B6 and folic acid. Thanks

Acupuncture worked for me. Lengthened it to 12 days. Although I did also conceive twice without acupuncture and a 9-10 day luteal phase so it’s not impossible.

I've also heard that high strength vitamin C is meant to help.

Thank you, I have ordered more B6 and Vit C as my prenatals don’t have a huge amount in them. Will give it another cycle or 2 and see if it makes a difference, might try seed cycling too. If nothing I’ll look into acupuncture:)

I have a 6 day LP and have always been told that anything above 9/10 is perfectly OK for conception, so I think you should be OK from that side of things!

How long did it take you to concieve both times? Were you taking any supplements to help at the time @Fizxy?

Mine were short when TTC number two, they were 6/7 days. I conceived on cycle no 3! I was taking a vitamin B complex with high B6 but its hard to say if this helped or if it was just that the egg stuck early! My research on it showed that a short LH phase will not effect fertility in the long run due to the variation in time taken to implant (as long as its lasting more thay 6 days or so which yours seem to be).

Good luck!

To add i didn't track cycles with baby number one, they could of been just as short but I feel pregnant first try

So my first pregnancy we were trying for around 9 months (but we weren’t tracking and took a few months break for holidays etc). That pregnancy ended in a mmc. After that my cycles went a bit haywire for 6 months so I started acupuncture and fell pregnant within 3 months. My next pregnancy was a first attempt without acupuncture and ended in another MC. So I started acupuncture again and it was third month lucky again. My luteal phase started extending after my first month of acupuncture though. But because I also conceived twice without acupuncture it’s hard to know if it made a huge difference or not but I felt better for doing it

Thanks everyone it’s nice to hear your stories. I’ve started on a stronger Insitol, Vit C and P5P (active Vit B6) as of today. Hoping it helps as I’m just feeling exhausted after ovulation and then as soon as my period hits I feel fine again. Never had this before I think I may lack progesterone or something and annoyingly drs won’t do anything until it’s been a year TTC, even though I’ve explain it’s not just about that, I generally feel I’ve been hit by a bus my whole luteal phase.

sounds like you’ve been on a quite journey @Fizxy🩷

Oh I forgot to say I wasn’t taking any specific supplements other than a conception multivitamin. I did try a bit of seed cycling too but wasn’t very strict with it so I don’t know if it really made any difference or not but I felt better for feeling like I was doing something which might help. Good luck :)

I have a short luteal phase of 9-10 days too and conceived third cycle with my first baby and first cycle with my second. Both normal pregnancies, no miscarriages. You’ll just need to remember your baby will measure a bit behind at the first scan as until 12 weeks your due date presumes 14 day luteal phase.

That’s great to hear @Chatsworthduckthanks everyone you’ve given me a lot more hope! I’m only on CD3 of cycle 2 so plenty of time ahead since I’m only 30 :)
