BBT - How to?

Hi! We are TTC baby number 1 and after some confusing ovulation tests last month I thought I'd track my bbt. But I don't know how! I bought a thermometer off Amazon that's specifically for this (called Easy@Home Digital Basal Thermometer)
First off , where do I put it? I thought it was in my mouth under tongue but I swear Ivw read people using it in...other places . What's the best way?

Also is there an app I can use to track/plot on?
If I'm honest I have no clue what I'm looking for in terms of temperature..do I just wait for it to rise and then dtd?

You put it in the mouth under the tongue.
You do it after your biggest sleep every day, before you get up or do anything else. Just reach for it when you wake.
You’re looking to establish a baseline over the first couple of weeks of your cycle, and then see a rise in temperature caused by progesterone. That signals that you ovulated.
Fertility Friend and Premom are both free apps that you can input your temp into.

I put it in my vagina. More accurate results. The app Fertility Friend works well.

Here’s an example of my chart last month where I got pregnant but had an early loss.

You can see lower temps (although varied) at the start, then an obvious jump caused by the corpus luteum producing progesterone after releasing an egg, followed by some dips (oestrogen surges and implantation), followed by another jump caused by more progesterone from the implantation.
You temp will start to drop towards when your period is due if you didn’t have a successful pregnancy that month. I stopped recording mine but it did fall.
