@Hopeandfaith1990oh really!! That’s interesting to know. How long were you taking naitre for before you fell pregnant? I was fine with them until my husband told me they smell like vomit (…which in fairness they do 🤣). I hope it makes a difference - the reviews are pretty good but like you say, who knows!!

I’d say about 7/8 weeks? I had 3 months between my transfers. The reviews are so good - that’s what got me as well 🤣

Such lovely news @SWMum9 and @LoudAquaMoose congrats on the positive scans. It's so horrid the scanxiety, i just try to relax my shoulders, try to breathe deeply and then during the entire scan i keep my fingers crossed - basically i get cramp and i close my eyes are the begging and hold my husbands hand during (whilst have my fingers crossed lols)

I was the same. The sonographer at the EPAU was absolutely brilliant. She already knew my history so I didnt need to re explain anything. She asked if I wanted the screens off which I did and explained that she might be quiet because she’s concentrating, not because anything is wrong.

Jecca88 · 07/01/2026 11:32

It's always so much better when you have an empathetic understanding sonographer @SWMum9 - when is your next scan? What treatment plan are you on?

I have another scan in two weeks and then will wait for my 12 week date to come through. I’m seeing Dr S under the NHS and on the double protocol. Hydroxy, pred & cyclogest

Jecca88 · 07/01/2026 11:36

@SWMum9 amazing. I thought Dr S would do early scans in his NHS clinic himself. Is it the EPU at St Helier that you see?

No he doesn’t, it’s all EPAU! I haven’t actually met him 😆

Jecca88 · 09/01/2026 13:19

@SWMum9 lol - i can't believe that. I wonder if you will ever meet him.

How are you getting on @Hopeandfaith1990 ?

@Gizmo1983 i have been thinking about you lots recently, how are you getting on?

Deerdancer34 · 09/01/2026 14:58

Aww thank you @pagey23 In a way Christmas was a nice distraction, feels a bit strange now, I'm not sure the reality has properly hit us yet...but we're plodding along, it's all you can do isn't it?
Alas my Christmas miracle didn't happen (surprise surprise!), so onto SO5... I know what you mean how Day 1 actually doesn't feel too bad because you're concentrating on the next cycle, comes around quickly! Best of luck for this cycle, how was your scan?
@SWMum9 @LoudAquaMoose Many Congratulations 🥰🥰

Lots of love to you all 💓

SWMum9 · 09/01/2026 15:02

I am 8 weeks pregnant now but looking about 20. My stomach is huge and rock hard. I think this is probably from all the medication, especially the cyclogest.

has anyone here experienced the same?

@SWMum9, I was the same. The steroid weight also slowly kicked in. I had to stay on a low dose of pred till I was 20 weeks, by which time I had a giant round face but it has disappeared now and at 36 weeks I just look very pregnant xx

I’m on a high dose of pred, it’s also made my hair really thin :( I hope it will go back to normal after

I feel ‘normal’ when I wake up but the second I eat anything I feel bloated and by the end of the day I think I could pass for 5 months pregnant 🤣 depends on how well I’ve eaten throughout the day too haha.

@Jecca88 I’m okay thanks my dear. Had 2 weeks between scans now but got the 12 week scan next week - so nervous but also excited. Just hoping with every fibre of my being that everything is okay. I had the booking in appt this week and all the bloods done for the 12 week checks. How are you? How many weeks are you? Are you still doing intralipids ? Xxx

ps I’ve never met Dr S either! His protocol just filters through via the recurrent MC team at Epsom and St Helier hospitals haha

@SWMum9 Yes, it does seem to have different effects on different people. I started on 25 g pred and then tapered from 13 weeks until I got to 5 g per day but i had tge blood tests again at 13 weeks and although they were down my immune levels were still a tiny bit iffy so i had to stay on the 5g until the scan at 20 weeks showed the placenta was looking okay and the blood flows were fine. That said, i could not have the intralipids because of allergies so it was pred, cyclogest and aspirin for me. Xx

Hopeandfaith1990 · 14/01/2026 10:23

12 week scan and bloods all good - feels surreal to even write that but I’m so so grateful. Had the scan on Monday and got the T21/18/13 bloods etc back today that all came back low risk. I have to say it has made me feel much more positive and optimistic but I’m equally terrified of that feeling! Embracing it but also understanding the fear.

Hope everyone’s okay xxx

@Hopeandfaith1990 Wonderful news!! I know there will still be fear but I hope you can enjoy your pregnancy now, it's so wonderfully special 🥰💞

LoudAquaMoose · 14/01/2026 14:43

Congrats @Hopeandfaith1990 thats such great news!

I had a dramatic weekend with some spotting on Friday and the weak symptoms I had completely going. I went into full meltdown crying the entire weekend. Scan at EPU on Monday showed a heartbeat and 7 weeks 2 days which is about right. After stopping aspirin I have had no more spotting.

I have actually been signed off work for 2 weeks because I am in such a bad place pregnant again. Grateful ofc but always expecting the worst. It is an absolute head fcuk.

Any words of wisdom from those out the other side. Were you the same?!

Deerdancer34 · 14/01/2026 15:21

@LoudAquaMoose Bless you, its so hard. My mantra was 'I am pregnant now, if something happens I'll deal with it then because I'll have to & will have no choice.' It sounds silly but its the only thing that got me through the early weeks. It was to try and stop my mind careering off down a black hole. Keep going, every day is a step forward 💪

Hopeandfaith1990 · 14/01/2026 18:18

Thank you lovelies @Deerdancer34 @pagey23

@LoudAquaMoose so sorry you've had spotting my dear, its sooo hard. I had brown discharge for essentially a month and red spotting on Christmas Day (!!!) and it was incredibly hard. With the brown, I basically just had to make peace with it because I've had 5 first trimester scans and all have been positive. Its extremely hard to deal with and my toilet anxiety (lol) became very bad to the point where i was saying a prayer every time. But I just kept repeating to myself 'you saw the baby x amount of days ago and they were fine, this spotting is not related to their health'

I also went on ChatGPT a lot (even sent photos sometimes lol really outing myself here) but it was reassuring. I think being signed off is positive. Rest as much as you can, drink tons of water and do affirmations and meditations if that's your thing xxxx
