The reason i ask is i my last 2 periods have been weird! Short, light and the last one just over a week ago i had no cramping.
So i bought in bulk the pregnancy test on ebay. I tested and got a very faint positive after my last light period.
These are the dipstick kind, i have been dong them daily for over a week now and still getting very faint positives, they are not getting darker. I have also used 2 first responses both - and 2 boots own both - .
So yesterday ordered some more ebay cheapies but different kind (mid stream) and some other dip sticksfrom a different seller. Have done one of each this morning and both faint positives?
So do i trust the Ebay cheapies or the more expensive FR and Boots?
This is really playing with my head.
I know i should just go to the docs, but just wanted to make sure i was not imaging things before i made a fool of my self.

The ebay cheeps are notorious for a verrry faint line not getting darker even though you are pg.

Go get a FR. They are the best imo and that should give you the answer you need. If you are late you could probably test this pm and get a +ve if you are pg, otherwise wait until FMU tomorrow.

Good Luck!

i did a first response 2 days ago and was negative.....
i'm not late, i had a light period? about a week and half ago and have been having the faint positives ever since the 3rd day after it started but only with the ebay tests
I just think maybe the tests are dodgy?!? Surely i would be seeing faint positives on other brands by now if i was pregnant.
Do you know what strength FR test at?

I don't know for sure. I think it might be 25 or less possibly.

If the first response and the Boots ob are -ve then I would think it likely that you aren't pg and the tests are duds

Just bumping this thread-can I ask which tests you bought-i was going to buy some (along with some ov tests but i'm not sure if they'll be any good? Anyone have experience either way?

I bought a bunch of the strip type tests on ebay (blue handle ones) and get the super-faint line every time I use one... INCLUDING when I experimented and did a test with tap water instead of urine (yes, my tap got a faint BFP too...).

I'd say if the line isn't getting any darker over a few days, it might not be for real. You could try getting DH to do one? Or try tap water too ... then if you see the same faint line, you'll know it's definitely not for real.

I use the ebay one step tests and always have a really faint line on them, several of my friends have the same thing. I think its where the chemicals are on the strip. pain inthe arse eh !
