Copper coil … can’t feel it!

Hi all so I’m freaking out a little and despite having an awful experience on here previously it’s the only place I know to go for help.
basically went to check my coil today and I can’t feel the thread which I usually can! I’ve used an ovulation predictor app AND ovulation testing kit and all signs point to ovulation ending recently and that me and DH DTD right on what is expected ovulation date. I wouldn’t be upset to be pregnant and don’t want to run for extra contraception because if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be 🤷🏼‍♀️ but other than wait for my next period I’m not so sure there’s anything else I can do. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated tia

I had this a year or so ago with Mirena coil. The chances are it's in there doing it's thing but the threads have just been 'sucked up' (for want of a better phrase!). I had a smear test and that happened just after, not sure if a coincidence or not.

I would probably be on the cautious side of things but it's probably ok. I called my GP and asked to be referred for a scan. Scan showed it was all fine and just missing threads.

I would be aware that you may need a bit more intervention for removal than just popping it out at the GP. I had to have mine removed at the hospital. It was absolutely fine and pain free but the initial waiting time they gave was 48 weeks! If you think you might want to get pregnant in the next year or so it's worth thinking about this. I asked my GP to expedite mine because I wanted to get pregnant and this magically moved to three weeks!

In short - You should be fine by worth be cautious and asking for a scan.
