Huh?! How would you use an egg white in conception?! I'm confused, but would love to help!!

Mandy73 · 27/05/2008 15:47

What, as 'artificial' fertile CM? You mean stick some up there?
Never heard of it.
Sounds a bit loopy.

That's not to say I wouldn't try.

Whizzz · 27/05/2008 15:58

you could whip up a meringue

Oh, it's totally loopy But you know, desperate times call for desperate measures!

Natural egg whites - I mean a real egg that you would eat - have the same properties as EWCM (that's why they call it egg white in the first place ) It's protein rich and the right consistency for sperm to survive and swim in. In Taking Charge of Your Fertility she suggests using real egg whites as a solution if you produce little or no EWCM. There are lots of success stories, but there is also a risk for infection and/or salmonella.

There's lots of info here - www.tryingtoconceive.com/eggwhites.htm which someone just posted on another thread for me. It explains the procedure, so I'm now clear on that, but still not sure if I'm brave enough...or if DH will agree!
