Bleeding in very early pregnancy?

I did these two tests today, top one this morning and bottom one this afternoon.
after the second one we dtd and I bled a significant amount of bright red blood during it. Enough to need to change the sheets.
has anyone experienced this before?

Hey @rachael2308 i wouldn’t immediately panic, it can be totally normal. Has it stopped now?

i had a lot of bright red bleeding at 5 weeks, and although that pregnancy ended in a loss at 7 weeks it was nothing to do with the bleeding, I went to EPU and scan was totally fine and she said it’s normal.

I also have a couple of friends who had significant bleeding in the first few weeks and had totally healthy, successful pregnancies.

it’s annoying because everything online seems to suggest that only spotting is normal, which makes us panic, but it’s really not the case!

@jenk91Thank you so much that is reassuring. It has spotted, just the fainted amount of brown spotting now.
I do have a history of cervical ectropion so maybe that’s it, you’re right about everything you read only talking about spotting. I’ve done a lot of googling 🤦‍♀️🙊

I bled with my last pregnancy every single time after sex. In the early days I was put on pelvic rest until we got to a safer zone of the pregnancy but I still continued to bleed . It lasted all through the pregnancy but everything turned out find and no explanation

If you’re worried I’d call your doctor to get hcg levels tested - I had the same at 5 weeks and it ended up in a miscarriage - but my tests got lighter.

I had a scan at the EPU to check and they were really supportive.

When I bled I miscarried bit it's not the same for everyone. For peace of mind get it checked x

I've had this with a few pregnancies. Sometimes it was a miscarriage but sometimes it was all right.

I bled loads after sex at 7 weeks with my last (3rd) baby, for me it was because of cervical ectropion. Hope you're ok x

I was told my early bleeding was implantation bleeding.
I ended up with one tube ruptured due to an ectopic pregnancy and a massive life threatening internal haemorrhage and a stay in the critical care unit
It is probably not your case, but I wish someone would have told me what could happen so I could have avoided some of the trauma

I had a bit of a heavier bleed today although it settled quickly and back to brown. EPU aren’t interested. Managed to book a private scan for 5+2 just to confirm location.

@rachael2308 i managed to get my GP to order hcg blood tests so it might be worth talking to them

Thanks @CharLdn. I had my scan yesterday which showed a sac in the right place and no evidence of bleeding. although not out of the woods and very early days. it gave me enough reassurance for now. The bleeding is just very minor brown discharge at the minute so fingers crossed it stays away

Hope you don't start bleeding again. It always sent me into a panic. It's the last thing you want to see.
