Hi all, I’ve just taken a test with ClearBlue ultra early as I’m 3 days late. Is this a line?

I can definitely see one! Even if it's faint, a positive is a positive! Congratulations 🥳

Bramble25 · 14/07/2025 20:40

Looks promising to me!

Really? It’s so faint though!

I can never see lines on these pics - but I see it!! Congratulations @Missthe1975

EmPeEf · 14/07/2025 21:15

It’s a line!

Missthe1975 · 14/07/2025 21:53

Surely if I’m 3 days late the line would be stronger?

I’ve just taken a Boots own test and it’s showing negative

OP posts:
EmPeEf · 14/07/2025 21:54

Did you track OV?

Missthe1975 · 14/07/2025 21:56

No I didn’t

Then it could have happened late and you could have been on for a longer cycle and only 10dpo or something. Try not to worry.

Rowen32 · 14/07/2025 22:21

If your cycles are very consistent I'd be concerned the line isn't dark enough maybe, hopefully you ovulated late

simsbustinoutmimi · 15/07/2025 12:02

I would track in a week or so. May be way too early for the boots test to pick it up.

Missthe1975 · 15/07/2025 12:38

Thanks, the line is the same thickness as the control line and does have some blue colour to it. When I’ve googled evap lines for these tests they are a lot thinner than the one I’ve got. So frustrating when it’s so faint

Missthe1975 · 15/07/2025 12:51

Also, I put the photos into ChatGPT and CoPilot and they’ve said the test is negative

I wouldn’t go by what they say they’re not always accurate

Missthe1975 · 15/07/2025 18:10

Should I test again tomorrow? It’s so hard not to keep testing every day but can’t get it out my head that it looks positive

Tomorrow you’ll probably just get the same result. It sucks but it’s worth waiting a week or two. Could you maybe try another type of test for an early result? First response?

SunflowerLife · 15/07/2025 18:35

I could see a faint line but if you're sure you're 3 days late, that is not a positive result. Clear blue often have evaps so it's probably that. At 3 days late you should see a strong positive for a successful pregnancy. Do another on a pink line test but I'm sorry to say it doesn't look a good sign if you want to be pregnant.

I think the fact a line is showing up at all, OP should either see the doctor or retest in a couple of weeks. It could still be positive. Both my sister and cousin had faint lines like OP after a missed period and were still pregnant.

AF came today - what a rollercoaster week!

Edited

It can be a sign of hcg not rising. If there's a line that's extremely faint to the point it's barely visible that gradually fades to nothing and then period arrives, it was probably a chemical pregnancy. It's up to the individual if they go to the doctor or not but personally I never did when this happened because I reasoned that there's unlikely anything that can be done and a low chance of a pregnancy loss that early being confirmed. A very light line that led to a successful pregnancy and birth was likely a miscalculation or misunderstanding of ovulation and menstruation dates. Retesting in a couple of weeks and getting a strong positive is unlikely to happen. HCG doesn't take that long to rise.

I’ve had a false positive before because I left the test for too long and looked again after an hour or so - I think the dye had spread or something

Sunrise8888 · 17/07/2025 18:06

Try buying test that says if you’re pregnant or not and how many weeks if so

SoManyDandelions · 19/07/2025 10:29

Sorry for the premature congratulations @Missthe1975

Fingers crossed for next month
