Hi all.

im 30, nearly 31.
over the last couple of years I’ve noticed my periods getting lighter, and going from 5 to 3 days in duration.
in the last few months, my cycle length has also went from 28/29 days, to 33/34 days.

from anyone’s experience, should I be worried about perimenopause? I’m convinced just at the time we’re ready to ttc I’m starting to close down. How much more difficult is it to fall pregnant when perimenopausal? Is it still possible?

for context, the reason why I’m spiralling is because I had a termination about 3 years ago (as we couldn’t afford a child at the time) and now I’m convinced I got rid of my only chance of a child.

Our cycles changes around every 8 to 10yrs so it could just be a regular cycle change. But have you got other symptoms? I found before I had a cycle change due to perimenopaus, I actually got other symptoms leading up to it first. Not saying thats the case for everyone. But I got extreme mood changes, hot flashes, exhaustion, not sleeping, dry skin, break outs, hay fever, also my top eyelids became a little more lower, (I know weird). Weight gain, and there is so much more that I won't list. Then after all that kicked in, my periods started dramatically changing from my normal, but I had a baby in the beginning of all this, I had a FET and it took. Im currently going through ivf again for another. Though I already have multiple kids.

I don't think you need to worry, youre still having normal periods. You could visit your GP but they might just tell you similar. They might do some bloods. Unless you TTC you wont know. You could pay for a private AMH to be done but its probably not worth it.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, incredibly kind of you.
I’ve not had other notable symptoms from your list, other than the eyelid thing… I noticed that too maybe the start of the year.
I think I’ll give it a few more cycles and if things don’t progress ttc and I note the symptoms carrying on/progressing, I’ll speak to a GP about potentially getting bloods checked.
thank you again.
