...it's driving me mad! Done a Tesco own preg test this a.m, was a negative result. I am 4 days late and usually have a regular cycle of 28 days. Has anyone else had a positive result after 4 days late, or later?

Perhaps you ovulated a bit later on in your cycle? Good luck!

loopylula · 27/05/2008 10:12

I got two negative tests 2 and 4 days after period was due and finally got the positive on the 6th day. A very weird week for me, and I was using clear blue digital!

elibumbum · 27/05/2008 10:14

Congratulations!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/05/2008 10:15

DS2 I was 9 days late, DC3 somewhere between 1 and 5 days early...!

Windypop · 27/05/2008 21:28

Thanks everybody! Still no sign of AF whatsoever, I didn't bother buying another HPT today as I thought I had one but it turns out I have none in the house! Will have to wait until tomorrow to test. Ooh-er!

have a look here for stats

Windypop · 27/05/2008 22:43

Wow! Thanks for that nomoremagnolia, just goes to show sometimes it takes a little while to come through on the HPT's. It is very unlike me to be late. Of course until a BFP it could be the case that something is amiss, but I have had two normal AF's since coming off the pill so it would be very odd indeed if AF just... stopped?! I guess some people can skip an period althogether but I never have. Will get some tests and wait until Sunday then if still BFN will make appointment at the docs

Bud bobbydazzler's is a good story!

Unfortunately a BFN on its own doesn't mean diddly squat (except lots of worrying!) Fingers crossed you get the answer you want soon

nomoremagnolia · 27/05/2008 22:50

Meant to ask is there any reason you might have ov'd late this cycle? (thinking particularly of stress?) Otherwise (assuming it's not a BFP of course) it's not uncommon to have the odd anovulatory cycle, which might be slightly longer than normal.

Windypop · 27/05/2008 23:29

Well nmm,if I may call you that, we moved house recently and it has also been a little busy on the family/friends side of things, so it could be stress. I am a realist so have considered logically all the options, including early menopause (eeeeeeeeeeeeek!) a bit premature I know after only being a few days late but I like to face anything bad head-on, plus I pride myself on being a realist . I have conceived on 1st cycle before but had a m/c. I had always had a suspicion of a thyroid problem though, (underactive) as I have some of the symptoms of this. I wonder if it could be linked?

You can call me what you like I would guess your ovulation was delayed slightly - still no reason why it might not be a BFP just too early to tell yet. Moving house is horribly stressful - I should know, I've moved 5 times in the last 6 years and the last time my period was a week late was after we'd moved house. Have you been doing anything to record your cycle or done any temping? How long have you been ttc since m/c?
Rest and relax - wishing you all the best

Windypop · 28/05/2008 20:41

Well nomoremagnolia - I got my answer today, and it certainly isn't early menopause!! A BFP this afternoon!!! I might have had delayed ovulation like you said which is why AF appeared late. I don't know if I was more thrilled at the BFP or relieved not to be having to make an appointment to see doctor about early onset menopause!!

Thanks very much for your advice, reassurance and best wishes x

Congratulations! I read your thread but didn't post as I didn't have any advice. That's great news!!

nella73 · 28/05/2008 21:13

hey i'm 6 days late and 3 pregnancy tests say i'm not pregnant!!!! i'm on a pill called clomid, could that have something to do with it?
i've always been very regular, i haven't had a pregancy test since monday, doctor said to retry next week... could i be pregnant???

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 21:25

Congratulations windypop really pleased for you!

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 21:27

Congratulations windypop really pleased for you!

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 21:50

Nella what were you cycles like before clomid? Is this your first month on it? What day of your cycle are you now? Do you know why you were prescribed clomid?

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 21:53

Sorry for so many questions!

nella73 · 28/05/2008 22:05

ok, i had a lap and dye in march which went very well, so doctor decided to put me on clomid to help me as i don't ovulate every month. i've been on it for 2 months, i was expecting my period on the 22nd of may, but no sign yet. i've had 3 pregnancy tests...all negative. the doctor said to wait another week and try another test...
my cycles have always been very regular, spot on, so it seems strange that i'm late this month.
you can ask as many questions as you like!!!

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 22:22

I only wondered as Clomid is given when you don't ov and you said you'd had regular cycles before. I would ignore whatever your 'natural' cycles are once you are on clomid. I was told when I was on clomid to expect cycles to be between 26-30 days. Have you had a blood test or scan to show you've ov'd this month?

nella73 · 28/05/2008 22:27

no, i was told to go back to the hospital in july...
did you have regular cycles when you were on clomid?
mine have been ok for the first 2 months, can't understand what's going on.

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 22:31

have you had any tests since starting the clomid then? I would be worried if you've had no tests - how do they know it's working? I had minimal testing but they checked that I'd ov'ed in the first month and told me to carry on with the same dose. I did have one month on clomid where I got to being about 6 days late (compared to the previous 4 cycles on clomid)

nella73 · 28/05/2008 22:40

the doc said i don't need to, he wants to see me in july to see how its going!!!
should i be worried?

nomoremagnolia · 28/05/2008 22:45

I would be concerned that they will not be able to say conclusively that it didn't work as how will they know whether it made you ov but you didn't get pg (as in my case) or whether it didn't work because you didn't ov on it. Assuming you're on 50mg dose I wouldn't worry too much about overstimulation, but that's something they ought to be keeping an eye on too. Worth asking about at the July meeting though, esp if they are gonig to try you on it again (I assume you're only on 3 months worth).
If period arrives after this long cycle I would be asking if it was an anovulatory cycle.
Got to go to bed now, sorry to leave you in the lurch. Will be back tomorrow at some point if you want to ask any more. x

nella73 · 28/05/2008 22:46

ok,nite honey!!!
