Ovulation after hormonal iud removal…

I know they say fertility generally returns straight after iud removal. But anyone here experienced it taking a few months/cycles before they started ovulating again? If so how long? I’m on my second cycle since removal and no positive opks yet.

Are you having periods? I haven’t been testing for ovulation but had my coil removed 4 months ago. My periods returned straight away and with 28 day cycles but lighter - apparently lighter is normal as the hormones affect lining of the womb and it takes some time to go back to normal. But this period (which is my 4th) has been weird - started as expected on Thursday but then went away after one day and now have had blood again today… I did 2 negative pregnancy tests already (just before my period and then the day after) so it’s not that.

I am not that convinced everything returns completely to normal straight away tbh. I am sure it’s possible to get pregnant straight away but idk if the likelihood is exactly the same as if you didn’t have the coil.

So I had mine removed on the 23/6 then 12 days later I had a light period that lasted 3 days. I think I’m more worried because I turned 40 this year that there’s also a chance I might be perimenopausal. But I’ve had iuds for that long I’ve no idea what I’s normal for me @VegQueen

Had mine removed in December. 7 months on and I’ve only had 1 “normal” 26 day cycle. The rest have been 50 plus days. Gp just keep sending me for bloods but haven’t actually done anything to help.
I’ve just turned 41 and I’m worried I’ve missed the chance

@upupandawaytodaythis is what I’m worried about 😔 Are you having any perimenopause symptoms? I feel like some nights (probably over that last year or 2) I wake up in the morning and I’m absolutely soaked where I’ve been sweating, and I don’t know if it’s just the heat in general or if I’m having night sweats. Also finding I’ve started getting drier down there too and also forgetful!

Not really, other than the irregular periods 😔

last month I had a text book cycle, blazing opk, multiple positive pdg tests, standard 26 day cycle. As soon as I mentioned that to gp she was like there you go we will keep going as we are and monitor bloods again. My 2-4 day test shows borderline oestrogen and lh is all over the place so again it’s messed up. I just wish they would try something like metformin or letrozole but she just wants to refer me for secondary I fertility (I have dc from previous marriage) but that could take months and i will be older? Not to mention I wouldn’t be entitled to ivf on nhs let alone even want to go through IVF. Just feel like I’m not being taken seriously

@upupandawaytodayI’m so sorry to hear that 😞 I also have 3 children (2 pregnancies) from previous marriage but my current partner doesn’t have any of his own. If it doesn’t happen for us naturally that will be it unfortunately so I’m just hoping I’m not too old. I think it’s so hard to get gps to take you seriously these days 😢
