Referred to Clinic of Reproductive Medicine – What to Expect?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just been referred to a Clinic of Reproductive Medicine via the NHS and was wondering if anyone here has been through this process recently and could share their experience?

I’m trying to get a sense of what the next steps might look like. Specifically:

  • How long did it take from referral to your first appointment?
  • What kind of tests or consultations happened early on?
  • How long did it take before any treatment (if applicable) began?

I understand that timescales can vary a lot depending on where you live. From what I’ve read, some people are seen within a few weeks, while others wait 6–12 months or more.

If anyone has advice on how to prepare, what to expect at the first appointment, or tips for navigating the process, I’d be really grateful. It’s all a bit overwhelming at the moment, and hearing from others who’ve been through it would be so helpful.

Thanks in advance 💛
