I fell pregnant at 19, but we didn’t continue to pregnancy as I was going to university at the time (with my current husband) so we are finding this ttc journey particularly sensitive :( it’s hard when you’re older isn’t it, I think I took fertility for granted a bit too much, but we wanted to be in the right financial position

Kerrylf · 25/07/2025 12:20

@DorsetGirl89sending you all the love right now. 💞 xx

SureLook · 25/07/2025 12:45

@FarAwayBird sorry to hear you're feeling defeated, it's hard x

@Mummysparrow I've also heard that statistic. It's frightening isn't it 😯

@hollyhocks2 glad to hear at least the scan showed everything else is OK.

@DorsetGirl89 I'm so sorry. You've been so positive and optimistic and so lovely on the thread. Do pop back in every now and then x

@EmPeEf keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

@PeonyPatch you made the right decision for you at the time and that's what was best. It will happen for you!

Honestly feeling so crappy I feel like i’m never going to see two lines on a test:/ I think I honestly must’ve ovulated CD 22 when I had spotting because if it was implantation i’d have at least a smidge of a positive test by now:// honestly just feeling so done with ttc it affects my mood so much I hate it

Sending you positive energy and compassion. I feel similar to you and find it so hard, frustrating and disheartening but try to be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can.

Hey ladies...sorry I'm yet to catch up on the thread. Will have a read through shortly.
Had my partners Semen Analysis results back and it's not great news 😪 mostly everything is within the normal parameters, however there is a MAR test which after a Google is a test for antisperm antibodies. And it'd come back positive. This basically means that his immune system is attacking the sperm and stops fertilisation 😔 feel so upset, haven't stopped crying all morning. From goggling alot, I think the only option is IVF. Positive for antibodies is usually because of trauma or infection. It can be seen in those that have had vasectomy. Just feel so low now. Didn't even know this was a thing and nothing can be done x

It’s so unfair isn’t it my partners sperm is the reason we haven’t conceived and it’s so so awful to hear especially because it’s out of your control 😣

SureLook · 25/07/2025 13:56

@amey44 sorry, it's so crap. It takes so much from us but we will get there ❤️

@ChaE05 I'm so sorry to hear that. That's very upsetting. Is there anyone you can speak to about it? I know you said there's nothing that can be done but maybe a professional might have something?

ChaE05 · 25/07/2025 14:03

@SureLookyes we will book a consultant to discuss the results and find out our options. I had 2 miscarriages in Feb and March. And my son is only 20 months old. So i assume my partner didn't have this then? As it says online the sperm is unable to fertilise the egg. So many questions and emotions right now. I hate this journey xx

Sorry to hear this. At least IVF is an option? How are you feeling about that pathway? 🙏

@DorsetGirl89my lovely...thank you for that. It's so nice to hear positive stories. The frustrating thing is they didn't put the percentage! But did for everything else. It just says that lower limits are negative or <50. So I know it's over 50 but that's all! Partner has emailed them and asked to provide details. All his other results were in range which is good..although things could be improved. Morphology was just 4% and I know that's the low side of normal. So hopefully if he continues the supplements and healthy lifestyle that will improve. I just feel so deeply and get consumed by it all.
Also... I have just read your posts and my heart 💔 honestly I'm so sorry for you. But I know your positivity will just get you through. I'm actually in awe of how you handle everything thrown at you. We are all here. Everyone going through this shit show together 🙃 sending love xx

1dpo here too @FarAwayBird @DoubleDandelion How many days do you usually get for your luteal phase? I usually get 12 days though it's predicted to be 13 for some reason this month. I'm away 8-11 dpo and I have enough to take with me I should just wait till I get home to test. I usually just temp and not test but I don't know how being away will affect that.

I've caught up with the messages and some of you have been dealt a truly shit hand. Fingers crossed for peace and bfps to all who search for it.

SureLook · 25/07/2025 14:58

@ChaE05 yeah, surely this wasn't an issue before. I know it's hard but try to stay off Google cause it will probably stress you out even more. Hopefully your partner will hear back soon with more detail and you can take this with you to a consultant. I really don't think that all hope is lost x

I used a fr this morning and it was negative unfortunately it’s hard to believe i’ll get a positive now as i’ve been doing this for so long I just know how it all goes from here… I start making excuses as to why it’s still negative until I get my period an it’s just draining even when I don’t test I convince myself i’m pregnant then the bfn is more painful xx😔

UPDATE: OH phoned the fertility clinic...asked why the report said normal, but it appears that he is showing positive for MAR test. The embryologist assured him his results were normal. If they see any form of binding they have to put it as a positive. His percentage was 30% and she said its in normal parameters and nothing to be worried about. The relief!! They need to change that in their report though. As it said normal result was negative or <50 but put his result ar positive!! She told him I need to get off Google 🤣 I had practically booked us in for IVF. X

ChaE05 · 25/07/2025 15:42

@DorsetGirl89you have made me tear up. I want to be more you!! Such an inspiration x for selfish reasons please don't leave the group 🥲 xxx

Gosh @ChaE05 that was a whirlwind - so relieved for you! In other words SA came back all good! That's really encouraging and I'm thinking it's been 'just bad luck' for you so far rather than anything physical being amiss.

@amey44 so sorry you're struggling. Remind me your stats - how long trying etc?

FarAwayBird · 25/07/2025 16:06

@DorsetGirl89 You’re amazing. I’m sorry this is so hard when you clearly deserve an easier ride for a while! I hope your doc continues to support you and trust that you know your own body. Take a break from MN if it helps but we’ll still be here when you’re ready ❤️ EDIT: Oh yay - just seen you’ll hang around for a while x

@DoubleDandelion and @Esssa Yay! Cycle twins (triplets?). I usually have a short luteal of 10-11 days. Ovulate day 17 of a 28 day cycle. Probably not ideal but I’m grateful it’s predictable. Was the same when I conceived my first - so not terrible worried.

@DoubleDandelion Wow. I can’t imagine having TWO babies in the NICU at once. You’re so strong! It took us 3 years, too. So similar there.

@PeonyPatch I know it’s hard but try not to beat yourselves up. You were SO young and you had to do what was best at the time. I’m sure it has no reflection on this TTC journey 💕

Omg @ChaE05 what a rollercoaster! I bet you’re so relieved. In the states (where I live) the docs make you book an appointment for all results. I roll my eyes because it feels like a ploy to make more money (because no NHS, obv). But actually, after hearing the stress you went through today - it kind of makes sense 🫣

Thank you @SureLook - How are you doing at the moment?

@amey44 I know that pre-end of cycle disappointed feeling BUT try to keep quietly hopeful for now. All is not lost!

@hollyhocks2yes thank goodness all okay! Please she could explain that over the phone without us having to pay the extra 300.00 to have the results read to us 🫠 I feel so much better now. All results have come back fine so far so I just pray it's a matter of time for us 🙏 how have you been feeling lovely? Hope okay xx
