@DorsetGirl89@EmPeEfi am also 36 and I questioned how fresh my eggs are 🤣 apparently at 36 60% of your eggs are good and 40% are faulty 😬
@Figtree11i am ok. 5 weeks pregnant and hanging on for dear life 🤣

Yeah, at 40 I have only a 5% chance every month but I don’t know if that’s to fall pregnant at all, which I can seem to do, or for it to stick once pregnant.

Mummysparrow · 24/07/2025 19:35

@Figtree11it came as a shock to me as I was so use to seeing negatives but of course I go get a positive test the morning of my infertility appointment 🤣 the fertility specialist gave me progesterone just in case yo help baby stick but the progesterone is making an already rough first trimester even more rough 🤣

@DorsetGirl89i was shocked when the fertility specialist told me that figure. She said the rest have chromosome abnormalities. After having a pregnancy with a chromosome abnormality last year I am really hoping the one that conceived this year is one of healthy eggs as I think another TFMR would break me.
How many dpo are you?

@DorsetGirl89i had a TFMR at 15 weeks for T16. Usually babies with T16 miscarry in first trimester but my body didn't get that message. My baby was properly starting to struggle and had congenital diaphragmatoc hernia so we ended the pregnancy as we knew it was coming to an end. It was horrible and then I had issues conceiving after which ended up with me having surgery in January which was just another punch in the gut. So I have my fingers crossed for this pregnancy.
I hope you don't have to wait tooong for the results. The waiting is often the hardest part isn't it

@Figtree11 gosh you've had a rough ride too. Totally recognise the negativity for first cycle back trying, that one sent me spiralling. I even got a false positive on an expired test just to make things really fun.

Welcome @PeonyPatch

@EmPeEf thanks so much for checking in, and now im fully caught up I can see cautious congratulations are in order!! So pleased for you and obv hope all goes smoothly from here. Do you have a plan around continuing to test? I'm doing ok, I tested today, after another 48h, line was definitely darker. AF due today roughly, so a little milestone to get past. I'm 14DPO. What about you?

Also had my transvaginal ultrasound that was already scheduled as part of the fertility testing my GP organised. Too early to see anything unfortunately! But he said all good overall so that's obviously another box ticked which is nice.

@DorsetGirl89 sending love - how difficult to still be in limbo. As someone who's never really had symptoms even with my daughter I am encouraged by you feeling rough! I feel totally normal right now. Maybe a bit bloated but it might be the crisps!!

hollyhocks2 · 24/07/2025 21:48

Sorry @amey44 I can't see anything but definitely try to wait a couple of days if you can beat it!

@FarAwayBird let yourself feel the feelings but I hope you find some optimism for the remainder of the tww. Or maybe there will be a very nice unexpected massive shock in 2 weeks time! Stranger things have happened.

EmPeEf · 24/07/2025 21:59

@DorsetGirl89 oh, I found that depressing stat everywhere I looked online earlier in the year which is one of the reasons we started trying as soon as possible. I always thought we’d be fine and could just do IVF as I went past 40, but then found the statistics are to do with the age of your eggs more then anything, and the chances go down 1% a year after 40. IVF doesn’t help with egg age at all so we got going. They’re going to be averages though, as women over 45 still conceive naturally, but obviously much rather than 35.

I really hope you see progression tomorrow. Praying for it 🤞🏻

@Mummysparrow oh ny gosh that sounds so intense. Crossing my fingers even harder you you now as well. Really sympathise which what you’ve been through.

@hollyhocks2 yes, I can’t quite believe it! I think your good luck this cycle rubbed off on me as well as my partner did 🤣

I have another regular Clearblue, and then two digital with weeks arriving tomorrow. I got my surprise BFP with a weeks indicator in May so I’d like to see it written out. I’m not going to do the regular Clearblue tomorrow unless I see progression on the strips though, and I’m not going to do the digital till I see progression on the Clearblue if that makes sense 😅 A low HCG “not pregnant” would be soul crushing lol. How about you? Glad to hear your scan went well. Will you consider an early one at all? I’d like to hold out till 8 weeks if I can as I know the chances greatly improve from there.

FarAwayBird · 24/07/2025 22:01

@DorsetGirl89 only 4 months, officially! So I really shouldn’t be feeling this fed up already. It took both me and my husband a long time to feel ready after a traumatic birth/newborn stage the first time around (husband couldn’t be at the birth, I had labour and c-section on my own except medical staff, baby stopped breathing, was in NICU etc)… but once we were ready… we were READY. If that makes sense? 😂

@EmPeEf 🤣 happy to help! Yes I totally understand your testing rationale, I have my own plan with alternate day strip tests then 2 digitals a week apart to check progression. Tried to explain to DP but he looked blank. This should make you all laugh in a hollow, wry sort of way - tonight he asked me what TTC stands for. I mean really. My eyes rolled to the back of my head. Are we on the same planet??

Haha. To be fair, whenever I read or write CD, I say “cool down” in my head, not “cycle day”. I was a gamer first 😂😂

DoubleDandelion · 24/07/2025 23:20

Oh my gosh @hollyhocks2 that has cracked me up. The revelation for my husband this month was that women only release one egg per month (“really?! Just one PER MONTH?!”), so there really aren’t that many days where you’re likely to get pregnant- I could see the cogs turning, we do not live on the same planet 😂

@FarAwayBird I think we’re cycle buddies this month, ov day today for me too. I identify with what you said about birth trauma so much. Our twins came very early and were very poorly, we spent months in NICU and our whole newborn experience was tough, this followed a pregnancy where I spent more time in hospital than out (we had 40+ scans!!). The idea of having any more was off the table for so long- until suddenly I felt VERY ready just like you say, it took 3 years to get there though!

Good to hear you’re still registering a line @DorsetGirl89 Have you thought about taking a one off temperature to give an idea of your progesterone is still going strong? Mine seems to going higher which I’m taking as a good sign. Just not sure when to consider myself 4 weeks because no sure of how many dpo. I just want to get past today and into tomorrow and then that’ll be further than I got back in May.

@DorsetGirl89 I’m totally crushed for you 😔 You’re always in here, supporting us and taking the time to read our posts and respond at length. You deserved so much more this cycle, I’m so sorry. You’re a real inspiration though; I know that’s not much consolation. Whilst you take a break please know that we care for you and wish you nothing but the best going forward xx

@DorsetGirl89 I am so sorry. Even if the bloods didn't pick it up, you know you were pregnant again, albeit sadly so briefly. You're in such a difficult position, I really wish you clarity, strength and peace as you navigate your dilemma and figure out the best way forward. Thank you for your support on here, you come across as such a warm positive resilient person and I know that will carry you through whatever lies ahead ❤️
