Hey can I join please? TTC first baby, this is my 6 month actively trying with OPKs. Had a chemical month 2, nothing since! Period due 30th so I’m in the dreaded tww.

Welcome @Another5am ! Sorry about your chemical 😔 sending baby dust for your TWW! ❤️

EmPeEf · 23/07/2025 19:30

@DorsetGirl89 In about 3 min. It looked slightly different cos I could see it in low light and crappy pictures like this one, and my partner could see it. I’m too scared to hope lol. Thank you for you support though, this forum definitely helps the stress lol.

I’m not sure. I think a lot of people with messed up sleep don’t bother, but I was getting readable results. Guess I’m just disappointed. AF is due Saturday. Wasn’t going to test till then but my partner and I did a couple. Think we got another shitty evap. Do they glow after inverted though?

Also didn't you have BBT dip (implantation on 22nd?) So would be getting results now? 😬 I really really hope so @EmPeEf have you got any FRERs? X x

3 mins! That's great! On a less sensitive test too. I really think this is a BFP, I've got a feeling! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️

Yeah it dipped two days ago. Is it too early for faint lines? No FR. I don’t trust the new dark pink cap ones cos I had an indent on them last month! Going to wait as long as I can hold out and just see if something darker happens over the next couple of days 🤞🏻

Figtree11 · 23/07/2025 19:38

Can I join please? TTC baby #1. 2 years in with 3 MMC.
This is my first cycle trying since the last loss in March. I’m 10 dpo & AF is due Saturday.
Feeling very negative about this cycle, I have zero symptoms whereas last pregnancy I did. Also only managed to dtd 3 days before ovulation and day of ovulation

No not too early, HCG starts being detectable in urine 1-3 days after implantation, so 2 days is spot on. Are you having any symptoms? I would say try a Clearblue ultra early but I know people aren't happy with those at the moment either. I'd just keep testing after longest hold, keep strips to check progression. Keeping everything crossed for you ❤️❤️🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi @Figtree11 welcome! I'm so sorry to hear about your losses, well done for feeling ready to try again. Hopefully you're feeling ok in this TWW, have you tested yet? ❤️

Thank you ❤️ just had a little read back, I’m so sorry you’re going through it & in limbo. I really hope it’s positive news for you.
I’ve been doing ok up until the last couple of days, as I keep comparing how I feel each dpo to last time. I haven’t tested yet, I think I will do on Friday morning

DorsetGirl89 · 23/07/2025 19:49

@Figtree11 I know some people get loads of symptoms and some none and it can be different experiences between pregnancies, so you never know. How do you track OV, strips or BBT or both? Have you been OVing regularly since loss or are you just getting back on track?

Thank you, love. I actually feel rotten today. I swear my boobs inflated a bit yesterday. It was easier to symptom spot when I was younger, but now with disabilities with pain every day, and horrible digestion, it’s hard to pinpoint anything specific which is why I was going off the temps a lot 😅

Figtree11 · 23/07/2025 19:55

@DorsetGirl89 fingers crossed - I don’t think I remember having symptoms with the second pregnancy. I track with the strips, I haven’t tried bbt yet. I was diagnosed with pcos last year so I’m on metformin, and so my last couple of cycles have been between 38 and 40 days which is pretty good for me. Since being on metformin I’ve found the strips have worked quite well, whereas before my lh was always high!

Hi @DorsetGirl89 thanks for inviting me over! That’s really kind of you. Hi everyone, nice to meet you 👋 I’ve been ttc fof 4 months, aged 35. Though I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS recently so that’s added another layer of worry for us x

Hey @Figtree11 I have just been diagnosed with PCOS too and I am on metformin to regulate my cycles a bit more. I am currently having 30-47 day cycles. My last one was 34. How are you finding metformin? I’ve only been taking it for 3.5 weeks so far x

Hey, I’ve been on metformin since Xmas, and take 1500mg. I won’t lie, it can give me awful stomach issues. Eating more healthily helps to avoid issues too much. But I have found it’s improved my cycles. I also take myo-inositol which is meant to help too. My cycles used to vary from 40 to 60 days before I started it. I got pregnant the cycle after I stared it

DorsetGirl89 · 23/07/2025 20:33

Hey guys.

Feeling really rough today still, exhausted! I wasn't spotting much today, until now, so now I'm thinking the worst again, I'm feeling really really low and with spotting I worry my progesterone has dropped 😩 it might still just be spotting from implantation though, and maybe my hormones are just all over the place, so I'm trying to stay positive. I just worry as I only feel this low in the day or two before AF arrives because of progesterone dip. Cramping isn't as bad as it was last cycle with chemical, so that's positive, just mild pulls and twinges. Hopefully bloods tomorrow will shed some light on things 🤞🏻
Welcome @PeonyPatch

Xx

LH strips by premom/ easy@home (on Amazon) are great at tracking your Luteinising Hormone, which is what triggers ovulation, so you dip a strip every morning after your period ends and scan it in app to see when you get your LH peak. You'll ovulate within 24 of the peak normally. If you have PCOS it might take a while to get an accurate picture of LH surges, as you might have more than one surge and you don't know when you ovulated, that's where the blood test is useful, if you have your bloods done 7-10 days past suspected ovulation, it'll show your progesterone levels to indicate if you did or didn't successfully ovulate. I just asked my GP for it and she ordered it.

Also, a lot of people track their BBT (basal body temperature) it has to be done with an accurate BBT thermometer, done as soon as you wake up before getting out of bed. You can put that data into same app as the strips (Premom app) and it'll chart your patterns and help you identify ovulation.

@DorsetGirl89 we are all crossing our fingers and toes for you here. If anyone deserves it, you do ❤️

@hollyhocks2 how are you getting on? x

DoubleDandelion · 23/07/2025 20:43

We’ve been away with my husband’s family and absolutely ZERO baby dancing has happened, paper thin walls plus my MIL are the perfect turn off 😅

CD11, wasn’t expecting to ov until Sat/Sun but it looks like it’s happening tomorrow, we’re on our way home so we best get busy! At least he can go out on his all day-er on Sat and I won’t be fuming that we’re missing our chance this month!

Thank you so much for the explanation @DorsetGirl89

Can I ask if you have PCOS too, is that why you asked your GP for the progesterone test? How long have you been TTC for? Not sure whether to keep trying for another couple of cycles and then go to GP for help. I was diagnosed with PCOS privately by a consultant and he was the one who prescribed me Metformin, ahh!!

Best of luck to you btw 🍀 x

Ah sorry to hear that. Do you take the slow release metformin? That’s what I take. I’m on x2 500mg currently. Do you know when or how you’re supposed to know when to increase ? I’ve also bought some myo inositol but I haven’t started taking it yet. I recommend Jess Shand on instagram she has an anti inflammatory hormone recipe book and I’m making recipes from that currently, and I feel great. Might help with some food inspiration ☺️

Hey @PeonyPatch, welcome. I think @DorsetGirl89 did a pretty good job of explaining the strips. They test the levels of LH (luteinizing hormone) in your urine. When you get your LH surge that’s your body telling your ovaries to release an egg which happens ~24hrs after your peak. The strips have two lines both of which will always have colour but you’re looking for the test line to be darker than the control, the Premom app can help you read them, any number over 1 means the test line is darker than control. You don’t know you’re peaking until you’re past it and get a number that is lower than the previous reading.

CD11= cycle day 11 with CD1 being the first day of your period. A lot of apps make the assumption of a 28 day cycle with ovulation happening at cycle day 14 but I reckon there is a lot more variation in it than that.

Ah yes, she did do a good job 🙂 Sorry what I meant is how to read them, the lines etc, but you’ve explained it well, so thank you.

A part of me didn’t really want to go down the strip testing path because I worry it’ll make me a bit obsessed, lol. But the longer time goes on, the more frustrated I feel, and the more I think it’s important to get the right timing. I think with finding out I have PCOS as well, I’m trying to make sense of what that means for LH levels.

Good morning ladies,

I’ve been so quiet as been so busy with work and we go on holiday to Greece Saturday so not getting much chance to think of this two week wait! I’m 6DPO today. Some twinges last night but I’m not going to be fooled this month 🤣 think I always get twinges 🤣

Hello and welcome to @PeonyPatch just joining ❤️

@DorsetGirl89 Oh gosh how confusing and exhausting for you darling! Hopefully new blood tests will come back positive but I would take it as pregnant. So weird the blood tests don’t pick it up and a frer does.

@DoubleDandelion Get BD’ing 💃 🤣
