@amey44 maybe your body tried to ovulate around 16/17 and it didn’t happen so it’s trying again. That can happen! I’d keep testing just in case. Do you temp?

Sorry @amey44 just refreshed and saw your most recent post. Any way you can DTD today?

We last had sex the 18th i’m honestly devastated im so gutted I feel like crying I can’t believe I missed it we have literally had sex everyday leading up to the 18th and i’ve put so much effort into this cycle:( I’m considering leaving early and going back tomorrow now lol but idk if it’s too late:(

My cm is like lotion textured though and I thought that was anti sperm and not fertile??

Honestly if leaving early is an option I'd do it personally, but obviously don't know your circumstances. I'm not good at tracking CM. If you're peaking now, maybe CM will turn egg white tomorrow? If you go back tomorrow it's unlikely to be too late, as you don't actually know you've even peaked yet, you might get an even higher surge later or tomorrow and then ovulate following day, even if this is your peak now, you probably won't ovulate for 24 hours, so sex tomorrow will still be good? Hope you catch it 🤞🏻❤️ xx

I’m supposed to be staying with family for a few nights so I can’t:/ I could possibly make an excuse to go back tomorrow but I have to be down here for the 23rd and it’s an hours drive so kind of inconvenient to go back now :((

Can't you pretend you left something important behind or something? 🤔 I'd do it personally. Although if you ovulated tomorrow sperm could still be hanging about from 18th, so still possible. How annoying though!

Yeah I was thinking of saying that and going tonight? I have a fear of driving in the rain though but if I don’t go this whole month has been a waste 🙃 I literally have only been back down here since yesterday as well because I had to drop my partner home for work ffs 🤦🏻‍♀️

So frustrating! And this is meant to be the fun bit! 😆 If I were you I'd go back and get the deed done asap, then you've done what you can and can head back to family without stressing.

P.S. take it slow in the rain! Don't stress, take your time xx

FarAwayBird · 21/07/2025 16:46

@amey44 urgh - so frustrating for you! I’m sorry. Like @DorsetGirl89 says - there could still be sperm hanging around!

Are there any ladies on here who are trying for second and wondering about the affects of breastfeeding on fertility? My period this month was so different to my others whilst breastfeeding, really hoping it's a sign that things are going back to normal...it seems heavier too so hoping my lining is building up again

I fed all the way through with my first. Caught with my second after just one go so bf didn't hinder me. Dd was past 18 months old at that point and I had had my cycle back for nearly a year. This time is similar though and we are on cycle 9 of TTC so your milage may vary. Also nearly 3 years older than last time and I'm 37, he's 45.

hollyhocks2 · 21/07/2025 16:55

Oh @amey44 that is incredibly annoying, after all your effort this cycle. On the one hand, this is important to you and going the extra mile will give you better peace of mind in the TWW and even if AF still comes this cycle, because you'll know you gave it your all. The other part of me thinks that maybe it's more important to have this family time and that TTC can wait one more cycle. I feel for you either way.

@ThatNimbleOP I am still bf my DD. This is my 3rd time conceiving since I had her and it's extremely early days so the jury's out on whether bf is affecting my fertility. I have had a full fertility panel and all results are 'satisfactory' but haven't discussed them in detail yet and am aware that satisfactory/normal is not the same as optimal.

ThatNimbleOP · 21/07/2025 17:04

@Esssa oh okay, interesting! This is true, we conceived first time with my daughter so i'm just naively presuming that BF'ing is what's making this such a shit show. Also every doctor saying it probably is (know this is just dismissive information in reality)! I'm 32.5 so age should still be on my side, was just turned 30 when we conceived prior.

@hollyhocks2 interesting too! What do you mean satisfactory, what tests have you had done?

I had tests done in Jan but tempted to have them done again next month now we've stopped BF'ing to see if anything's changed. Although they were all normal bar a shockingly low progesterone result at Day 21!

ThatNimbleOP · 21/07/2025 17:07

I just hate the not knowing why something isn't happening...5 cycles properly trying though out of 10 months, i guess stats are still on our side so i probably need to chill out haha!

Yeah i’m thinking of just staying put tbh as I think all this moving around will delay ovulation and just stress me out:/ I’ve also got really thick white cm now which online says is infertile so i’m wondering if I have already ov’d possibly yesterday ? Which would still give me a chance maybe

hollyhocks2 · 21/07/2025 17:49

@ThatNimbleOP you're well within the normal time frame so yes try not to stress (she says!). I've had lots of things tested it seems: globulin, testosterone, androgen, FSH, prolactin, oestradiol, LH, vitamin D, thyroid, clotting, bone profile (??), MDRD, calcium, creatinine, AKI. No idea what half of those are. But in my NHS app it says normal or satisfactory for each of them. But there's no detail.

My GP is away, I had to have an appt with a different GP today and he wasn't comfortable prescribing progesterone without any bleeding yet (even though original one had agreed but she didn't make a note of it apparently) so has booked me in with her when she's back from holiday next week. Not ideal as it's such a critical time obviously, praying that all is ok until then at least.

I’m still breastfeeding @ThatNimbleOP I worry about it all the time but I’m keen for the twins to wean naturally. One feeds about 3x a week and one maybe only once (they’re 3). My cycles are pretty regular and getting good strong LH surges but still worry the effect the hormones have on my body doing all the right things at the right time!

BambinaBoo · 21/07/2025 18:22

11dpo today.. cramping, raised temperature & feeling waves of nausea. Will keep you all updated but praying.

ChaE05 · 21/07/2025 18:41

@ThatNimbleOPyes..it's always at the back of my mind. We are down to one feed a day though. Have you gotten pregnant at all? I had two early mc since we have been trying. All bloods come back okay and progesterone tested twice and been a good level! Soooo many women fall pregnant whilst breastfeeding so trying to keep positive x

ThatNimbleOP · 21/07/2025 19:09

@hollyhocks2 @DoubleDandelion @ChaE05 scuse if i miss anyone, detail isn't my forte haha!

Haven't gotten pregnant at all in that time, maybe faint line one month at 7DPO then nothing. That's the strangest thing to me. I know lots of women have got pregnant, just can't think of any other factor when all our results are normal either side (bar low progesterone but just got told to stop BF'ing haha).

Getting the oura ring tomorrow, hoping it'll give me more insight now :)

Wishing you all luck and congrats on breastfeeding as long as you all are by the sounds haha.

overwork · 21/07/2025 20:03

I’m also still breastfeeding my nearly 2 year old. Very rarely overnight, usually just feed to sleep and maybe when he wakes up if I can’t leave the house without being seen! TBH if it is affecting my chances I’m not prepared to stop until he’s ready so I won’t be making any changes. We’ve only tried one month (this months a right off, I’m ill exactly when I expect to be ovulating). I’ve had regular periods back for about 6 months now

EmPeEf · 21/07/2025 21:09

Feeling your frustration @amey44 crossing fingers for you anyway.

@BambinaBoo sounding good!

EmPeEf · 21/07/2025 21:15

Temp this morning was so below cover line it’s not even funny 😭 what would be the first things to talk to the GP about if my cycle isn’t normal because of my age? Does it look like I’m struggling with progesterone?

@EmPeEf Does this chart make you 10dpo? That’s around the time my temp dips if AF is on the way. I think it’s normal? Sorry. Probably not what you want to hear! Can you compare to other months?

Thanks! How are things going for you, Em?

DoubleDandelion · 21/07/2025 22:07

@EmPeEf could it be implantation dip? When I got pregnant with the twins my temp dropped below cover for one day and then straight back up again, must have been the day I implanted with hindsight!

FarAwayBird · 21/07/2025 22:26

@DoubleDandelion oh I like this option better! 🤞 @EmPeEf
