Implantation or miscarriage/chemical?

Hello. So my partner and I aren’t actively ttc as such but we aren’t preventing it either, and would be happy to be pregnant ❤️ my period was due a week ago, and I’ve felt really weird all weekend, dizzy, nauseous and headaches. I ovulated later than expected which was 12 days ago and my partner and I had sex 10 days ago.

I did an early detection test last night and it was positive, very faint like but it was there. This afternoon I started bleeding and cramping. Not really red but redder than I would assume implantation would be. It’s eased off this evening and there’s a few spots on my sanitary pad. I have had 2 miscarriages before and this feels abit different. I did another test after I started bleeding and it’s very faintly positive. Could I still be pregnant? Thank you ☺️ xx

It's hard to say, it could be implantation, it could be a miscarriage. The only way to know for definite would be to speak to GP and see if a referral to EPU would be possible. Equally, you may be too early for them to see anything. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you for your reply. It’s much heavier this morning so I know it’s a miscarriage now 😞it just feels like a period now. Should I still go to the EPU? I go away on Saturday and I remember when I had my last miscarriages they wanted to do blood tests every 48 hours to make sure the hcg was going up or down to rule out ectopic and see if the pregnancy was gone xx

I’ve had similar and put it down to a chemical pregnancy- the way I saw it was if I hadn’t tested, I would assume it’s just a late and heavy period so I didn’t do anything.
sorry you are going through this

Aww I’m so sorry 😞 Yes that’s what happened to me when I lost my first pregnancy, if I hadn’t tested I wouldn’t have known. The second one was a shock cos I didn’t know I was pregnant until I was already losing it. I did have a healthy little boy between those two though ❤️ but I’ve had 3 losses now (including this one). Should I not bother going to EPU then do you think? Xx

I think if it’s just like a heavy period no, but if you are in any pain or clots etc then maybe get checked over

They sent me for a scan but there was nothing there, then did a pregnancy test and it was negative so they’ve put it down to a chemical pregnancy 😔 xxx
