30 Year Old TTC with partner who is 45 - how likely is this to happen?

Hi all,
I am 30 years old and trying to conceive my first child with my boyfriend who is 45. We have been trying for 10 months now and nothing, I have a regular 28 day cycle, taken folic acid for months now and both eating better.
Does anyone have any positive stories about conceiving naturally with their older partner, I don't know if to hold on any longer or start going down the fertility clinic route.

I was 35 and DH was 53 when I got pregnant. No intervention at all. After you've been trying for a year it might be worth your partner getting checked

You can get private sperm test for not too much money. Check online

Also consider that the sperm of older fathers has recently been found to play a much bigger role in birth defects than was previously thought (it always used to be attributed to the maternal age, but this focus has of late changed a bit).

Something to bear in mind after conception, to make sure you're both on the same page about testing for birth defects and what you'd do if there was a problem.

Got pregnant straight away at 27 with my 40 yo partner, we’re now 30 and 44 trying and on month 2 TTc no2. I’m sure it’ll be fine but after 12 months see your doctor for testing. Are you tracking ovulation etc?

Hiya, any update @Pixiebaileyx? We are on cycle 7 currently and no luck yet but having basic testing done in a few weeks just to check x
