So we have been ttc for 3 months now after having the copper coil in for 6 months and removed in february.
My first period was fine 29 day cycle. Period last month was strange, short 1 day of bleeding then nothing for a day then 5 days of brown when i wiped? was getting very faint positives for a week with brown stuff just presumed i'd had a CP?
this month period arrived exactly 28 days. Very light again lasting 2 days and now brown when i wipe again. no cramps or PMT. it started on sunday 18/05. Have been needing to Wee all the time, if i have a drink need to wee straight away. Got a faint positive on Monday and been POAS practically everytime i wee Some faint positives some negatives
Another thing when i was preggers before i grow these lovely long strong nails, usually brittle and break easily. For the past week my nails have began to grow and actually look decent!
I've got my smear today?
But i have no idea what is goin on with my body. What should i do?
Have done a test today, well actually i have done 3, 2 very faint positives the other negative.

Think you need a scan! Sounds like you could be pregnant and your body is just not showing up a high level of hcg. Lots of people dont and some dont get very positive lines on a hpt for ages.

Not sure you should go for the smear, it will give altered results if you are pregnant.

See the gp and try and get a scan, fingers crossed!

I had 2 light periods not realising I was pregnant. I was 4.5mths before it was confirmed at my age you would have thought that I would have known

witchandchips · 22/05/2008 10:44

think you need to get to the doctors. Spotting is quite common during early pregnancy but fact that your tests are inconclusive suggests that your HCG levels are not rising particularly fast. - hope all is well

Meeely2 · 22/05/2008 10:48

you do sounds pregs to me - get to GP to get it confirmed...my friend was 15 weeks when she found out - only went to docs with stomach issues, she'd been having periods up til then.

I would not have it, but telephone them or pop in and see what they say. Speak to the Nurse or Doctor, depending on who you are seeing.

The same happened to me. I was due a routine check up and went along to it anyway, but told them I might be pregnant.

While I was there they changed the appointment and started my pregnancy book instead and gave me my first booking in appointment. The thing was I had, had two +++ results with HPT anyway and was a week late, so I was almost sure I was pregnant. I just had to wait for the scan two weeks later.

I did struggle to uderstand why they did not do a test for me and just took my word for it. But that must have been their policy.

No appointments today, so have decided to go to my smear with the nurse as planned and explain to her what is going on then she might get the doctor in to see me?

Good plan, she wont smear you if there is a chance you are pregnant, It is not worth the altered result risk. Hopefully she will book you in

PinkTulips · 22/05/2008 11:54

smear can cause MC if you are preg so please don't go til you're sure.

go to doc, sounds like a low hormone preg, you need bloods and a scan

mags98 · 22/05/2008 12:24

No, smears do NOT cause MC.

But in pregnancy they can be inaccurate and give false readings, so best not to do them.

Also, MCs are common and might coincidentally happen shortly after a smear just by chance. If ot did, you would probably blame the smear anyway (even if it actually had nothing to do with it) so most people would choose to avoid doing them in early pregnancy anyway unless it was essential.

Just got back from the doctors, i have got to take a urine sample in tomorrow morning to be sent off. So will find out next week Tuesday/Wednesday what they say. Probably do another 20 tests over the weekend just to mess with my head some more
