So I’m due my smear - when’s the best time to book it for when ttc?

I have mine booked on Thursday just for when my AF finishes!

ChaE05 · 16/06/2025 11:56

Have just had my pelvic ultrasound. She didn't say much other than she can't she anything 'obvious' and the full report will be with my GP within 5 working days xx

justbelieve · 16/06/2025 12:24

Can I join? I was on previous threads until having an eptopic in March which needed MM. This is my first month trying since my recovering and I’m currently 8DPO 🤞🏻

AJ25 · 16/06/2025 13:13

Hi all, I’ve been a long time reader of these threads and this is my first post. I had an MC at 8 weeks in January after 5 months TTC. AF started yesterday after 4 cycles TTC after the MC. Feeling completely crushed by it all. I’m 31 and my husband is 30, we are trying for our first baby. Praying for a BFP this month 🙏

Muddysocks1 · 16/06/2025 13:24

@peanutForever ah Yes my GP included it as a possible concern on fertility referral, and specialist thinks could be link, although the ultrasound looked ok.

I’m having a bit of a low day thinking about it just never happening and how slow the NHS stuff is. We’ve afforded some private testing but we couldn’t afford private IVF. I guess most people can’t but many end up making it work somehow? Our area only does one round of IVF on NHS, and I’ve heard often the first round isn’t successful whilst they adjust drugs etc, and consequent cycles might be.. but then on the NHS you don’t get an opportunity!

That sounds good at least! 🤞🏻

I’m CD5 so a week until fertile window.. I’ve managed to not focus on it too much for the last few days and trying to be chill 😎

Renee33 · 16/06/2025 13:30

Hiya ladies, it has been some time! So happy to see all that have their bfps, CONGRATULATIONS 🥳. Hope we get more in the group. So an update from me - my LH peaked yesterday, so probably ovulate today or tomorrow which is unusual as I tend to ovulate between CD18- 20. But In my last few cycles I was ovulating much later and I think that had something to do with using Proceive, which I have now discontinued. Glad I did becuase i think this new one has regulated my cycle and might be the reason I am ovulating early. Anyway thank goodness we BD the morning of my LH peak otherwise we would have missed it 🙈. Will try and get in another session tonight 🤪

Iris2024 · 16/06/2025 13:30

@AJ25 Sorry to hear of your MC and sending you all the love and baby dust going forward 🤍✨

@bigbird1234 Congratulations darling, keep us updated ❤️

@Mummysparrow Sending you love and we are all here for you and it will happen for you 🤍

@rachael2308 I’m so so sorry for your loss, that’s heartbreaking 💔 all the luck in the world to you lovely!

Im sorry to all of you who have received AF or waiting for AF after negative tests. It’s soul destroying isn’t it. I’m on CD8 today and we started BD last night and will do every other day (try) before peak! Rang doctors and my ultrasound has come back as satisfactory and no further action required so at least I’m ovulating. I’ve got my fertility appointment with Gaencology on Wednesday so not too sure where I go from here. I’m hoping for a HYCOSY to flush me out to give me the best chance 😩🩷

peanutForever · 16/06/2025 13:41

@Muddysocks1if i am honest since youve had a scan and its got a good thickness it doesnt seem like it should be a concern? I feel like the next step to investigate that would be an ultrasound which youve already had, i really feel like once referrals go through half the people trying get pregnant so am really hoping this month is your lucky month!

Private IVF abroad in europe is very affordable if you ever needed that and theres so many steps before then (medicinal treatments etc) so try not to think that far ahead- the chemicals show that sperm and egg are meeting so thats one really good sign..try to remain positive altho i can completely understand when you want a baby so badly and feel deflated every month :(

Midnight00 · 16/06/2025 13:41

Hi all, I’m on CD11 and waiting for my HyCosy tomorrow which I’m nervous about. Have read that damage can be done during a C-section. At least I should find out if everything is in working order or not.
Congrats on the BFPs and fingers crossed for all those waiting!

peanutForever · 16/06/2025 13:43

Oh yes @Iris2024heard so many people fall pregnant after a flush!

welcome newcomers and @Renee33what supplements are you on now?

This is what I’m hoping lovely 🥰 I know I’m ovulating so just want to know the next steps now which is Wednesday. Let’s hope I catch before a HYCOSY is needed though eh 🤞🏽

BerrieSweet · 16/06/2025 13:49

@Iris2024I got pregnant the same month as I had my flush, after TTC 6 months 🫶🏼 sending babydust!

NatalieSF · 16/06/2025 14:02

Thank you to those who replied to me, it's greatly appreciated 💕 I had a high risk pregnancy which resulted in weekly scans but unfortunately my placenta abrupted at 34 weeks and my daughter didn't make it 😔 Lots of mixed emotions about TTC again especially if we get pregnant this month as I'll be due in March again but I've seen so many stories about abruption effecting fertility that I'm also worried it's going to take a while to conceive again 🙈

I hope everyone is well and sending lots of baby dust 💓

Sorry @peanutForever i tagged the wrong person!
MN regularly just refreshes when I quote to reply, unhelpful 🙈

Yeah that is true! Plus doing acupuncture and she’s suggested caster oil packs and femoral massage, so going to try those religiously this month 🤞🏻

good point about Europe, and also yes the chemicals are in a way reassuring to an extent?

Don’t know what I’d do without you lovely lot to ramble on about it all with! ❤️

LuckyDuck93 · 16/06/2025 15:45

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question, i've seen quite a few of you talking about scans/fertility investigations, can I ask how long it took to have these done after seeing your GP?
I've got a telephone call with mine in a few weeks after TTC for 13 months for our first, so just wondering about time scales etc.

Due to ovulate this week so hoping that going to the GP is going to take all the pressure off and then it might just magically work 😅

MrsGingerCat · 16/06/2025 15:51

Hey everyone, well its been a rough weekend, my chemical was confirmed on Thursday evening and I started bleeding Friday.
Is it weird to feel completely broken over a chemical? I heard someone say to her friend once years ago 'oh but you're really early, so it's not that bad' and something didn't sit right with me about that.
As mentioned previously, it was our first pregnancy and first loss.
I think because we were just so happy with the positive, it hit us like a tonne of bricks.
We have discussed whether or not to take a break or just to continue, and we're just going to continue I think.
For those that have been in this position before, did your cycles just return to normal or were they irregular after?
Thank you for all the support on here 💞 - it's great to be able to discuss it as we had not told many IRL.

Ec2808 · 16/06/2025 15:58

@MrsGingerCat so sorry for your loss!! it's horrible!
it doesn't matter how far along you are it always hurts! and your feeling are valid!
I went through a chemical in March and it really broke me, might be pregnant again this month and absolutely terrified...
my first cycle after chemical was very normal but now 3 months later my cycles are getting longer and ovulation is later than usual
sending lots of hugs! xxx

rachael2308 · 16/06/2025 15:58

Hope everyone is ok.
my small amount of brown spotting has turned red today so I imagine AF is round the corner. Frustrating as I’m only 9dpo 😕
@MrsGingerCati don’t how about cycles but you are totally normal feeling that way. Fingers crossed for you.
@LuckyDuck93il not sure but I’d like to know the same, I’ll be going to the GP in a few months if nothing has happened

EmPeEf · 16/06/2025 16:18

@NatalieSF I am so sorry to read your story 😞 Sending you lots of love.

@MrsGingerCat not weird. Mine devastated me last month. I cried on and off for over a week. It’s a real loss. My brain had gone and mapped out the next 8 months without my permission, and my autistic brain struggled to come to terms with it logically as well as emotionally.
I am currently on CD18 after treating my first day of bleeding as CD1. Normally been OV on CD20. I’ve been tracking test strips and BBT from around CD8 so hopefully I will find out of this cycle acts like a cycle. Feel like it’s unlikely I’d have OV during the first week after, and it’s only in the last few days I’ve been experiencing EWCM.
