Reading back my post to check for errors, I realised how I definitely read CD as “cool down” in my head, because I’m a gamer and that abbreviation belonged to World of Warcraft before TTC 🤣🤣

Hi @LuckyDuck93mine has been really quick. GP ordered blood tests right away and then also got me to book in for bloods to be taken between days 1-4 of cycle. They also got me in for a pelvic ultrasound at the hospital which I had today. I think that must have been about a 4 week wait? My partner has a form to get his semen analysis but the what with the hospital is 2 months so we are going to a private clinic and they accept NHS referrals so we are in the process of sorting that. Once all our results are back they will refer us to the fertility clinic. Not sure how long that will take but so far all very proactive x

@MrsGingerCatreally sorry to hear what you’re going through lovely. Totally normal and valid. I have to admit, having had 2 chemicals before my successful pregnancy with my now 3yo and another 2 before my MMC this year that I don’t get as crushed as the 1st. I do think multiple losses harden you a little bit as you don’t let yourself get excited after the first loss, however, my first CP and my MMC I was FLOORED! And I think it’s because you immediately start imagining how much your life will change in 9 months time and when you’re going to start mat leave etc. I know some people who’ve been as affected each and every loss too. Everyone deals with it in their own way and however that is is completely valid for them. You do what you need to get through it. My chemicals never affected my cycles at all, they were straight back to normal, but I have seen some ladies on here where it’s knocked them out of whack for a bit. Some of it depends on your HCG levels and how quickly they come down. Wishing you lots of luck and baby dust as you start to try again. Be kind to yourself 😘

Hey everyone, well its been a rough weekend, my chemical was confirmed on Thursday evening and I started bleeding Friday.
Is it weird to feel completely broken over a chemical? I heard someone say to her friend once years ago 'oh but you're really early, so it's not that bad' and something didn't sit right with me about that.
As mentioned previously, it was our first pregnancy and first loss.
I think because we were just so happy with the positive, it hit us like a tonne of bricks.
We have discussed whether or not to take a break or just to continue, and we're just going to continue I think.
For those that have been in this position before, did your cycles just return to normal or were they irregular after?
Thank you for all the support on here 💞 - it's great to be able to discuss it as we had not told many IRL.

I’m so sorry @MrsGingerCat, totally understandably to feel broken.
after mine my cycle was totally normal, I counted first day of bleeding as day 1. People say you’re more fertile in the 3 months after but hasn’t happened in the 2 cycles after so honestly if you need a break mentally I’d take one. Sending you a hug xxx

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question, i've seen quite a few of you talking about scans/fertility investigations, can I ask how long it took to have these done after seeing your GP?
I've got a telephone call with mine in a few weeks after TTC for 13 months for our first, so just wondering about time scales etc.

Due to ovulate this week so hoping that going to the GP is going to take all the pressure off and then it might just magically work 😅

Bloods were booked immediately - make sure they’re on the right day (most start of cycle, progesterone is mid luteal). I haven’t had an ultrasound with GP because I’d just had one privately. Partner was offered a semen analysis first time he mentioned
we were TTC unsuccessfully.

@MrsGingerCati am so so sorry for your loss. It hurts and you have got to let yourself feel that. I had a miscarriage in Feb and I did concieve straight away again before having a period, but unfortunately that ended in a chemical. We are going into the 4th month of ttc since that pregnancy. Do what feels right for you. My cycles have been perfectly normal since, I think maybe the first one I ovulated a day or 2 earlier. So just keep an eye if you use opks x sending love ❤️

MyPearlBee · 16/06/2025 20:22

Hello, first time posting here but have been lurking a while. I had a 28 week loss in Feb and this is our second cycle ttc since then. My first baby (and only pregnancy) took 13 cycles to conceive and I’m so dreading that being the case again as I’m nearing 38, and the only way I’ve been able to get through my loss is the hope of another pregnancy/baby. I’m currently 2 or 3 dpo.

Thank you and so sorry for yours as well. My baby was born on 14 Feb. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat further. Has your doctor offered you a pelvic scan to check everything looks ok after the abruption?

peanutForever · 17/06/2025 07:13

@MyPearlBeeso sorry for your loss

so i tested LH yday and today and its very light but usually i get a peak at some point today and its rapid i wonder if i will get it today? Hoping DH is better enough to DTD tomorrow so would be ideal if i peaked this afternoon gah wonder if my body just decided to relax and not ovulate this month

Muddysocks1 · 17/06/2025 08:07

Is anyone else avoiding antihistamines (not recommended whilst TTC, partly because they dry up cervical mucus, and some evidence about affecting implantation) but suffering when you go outside? Apparently nasal sprays are fine so I’m trying to use those instead, and eye drops when my eyes get itchy.

also on medication note did anyone know that you should avoid ibuprofen when TTC too? I never knew and my GP said! Better t take paracetamol. Shame it’s ibuprofen that tends to help period pain more - a sick joke to get bad period when TTC or after a chemical and then have to avoid ibuprofen!!

LuckyDuck93 · 17/06/2025 09:26

@Muddysocks1 I'd totally forgotten about not taking antihistamines, how else should I survive with hayfever though 😅I think i'll give the nasal spray a go, thanks for the reminder!

Ibuprofen is the only thing i've consistently remembered not to take!

Has anyone taken cough medicine to increase cervical mucus? I did it a few months ago and it worked but didn't seem to do anything after that so I stopped, just wondering whether to give it another go

I’ve mostly been ok but pollen has been so high the last two weeks that I’ve struggled! I did take some antihistamines over my period as thought surely that’s the least harmful time 🙈

Ive got Guaifenesin tablets that I bought online. They taste AWFUL, so chemical! I forgot to take last month but I’ll try again this cycle. I’m also taking starflower oil for CM plus using preseed lube… I don’t get much CM so trying everything. Probably just need to drink more water too

SY2007 · 17/06/2025 10:33

Hey all, hope it’s okay to jump on!
I’ve taken a couple cheap tests at about 10DPO-11DPO. Both tests have got very very faint lines… I’ve used these cheapies for my last cycle and they showed no lines at all when I didn’t fall pregnant. The camera isn’t picking them up well.. I’ve had to try take a lot of pictures just to show but wondered if anyone’s tests looked like this at this point in cycle and ended up being pregnant? I don’t have any symptoms/cramps etc. I know the lines are Soooo faint but I promise there is something there 😂 let me know what you guys think!
thanks!

I can see something @SY2007- try to leave it until Thursday and test again with a FRER

FlyHighSky72 · 17/06/2025 11:36

Right cycle 3 of ttc - CD2! Trying seed cycling this month plus cough syrup, preseed and baby aspirin after ovulation! Throwing the kitchen sink at it - anything I’m missing?

what vitamins does everyone’s partner take - mine currently isn’t in anything but wondered if he should be! Probs

Do you take the guaifenesin just during your fertile window or for longer? I can't remember what I did last time

Well tbh I didn’t really remember to do it, I think when I did it I took a tablet on days in my fertile window but I’m not sure how long the affects last or if you should take multiple etc in a day. A bit haphazard! I’ve got the cough liquid but assume that’s full of sugar and sugar spikes not great for hormones so will try the tablets again this cycle

SY2007 · 17/06/2025 12:07

Yeah definitely something there but I think the lines should be thicker than they are @FlyHighSky72 so I’m not too sure. Will try hold out for a couple days

Same to you feel free to DM if you ever want a chat. No I've had no follow up apart from a debrief about her death and was told I would be on aspirin in future pregnancies and that was about it. The whole TTC Journey is a rollercoaster already 🙈

FlyHighSky72 · 17/06/2025 13:20

I got these from eBay, I couldn’t really find any brands I’d heard of and I don’t think you can easily buy mucinex online in the uk.
