Had my GP appointment today for the two back to back chemicals. Was a little disappointed, she definitely made me feel like they weren't "real" losses, and said they didn't warrant any investigation. She even said I just shouldn't test until a week after I miss my period, although when I said but if I did that I wouldn't know about these losses she didn't really have an answer. She grudgingly agreed to do thyroid, iron, FBC, (and vit d/calcium because I'm dairy free due to breastfeeding my son with CMPA) but wouldn't do any hormonal checks. She just said to come back in a year if I still hadn't been successful. I'll see what these tests say, and then just keep trying! Although if it does happen again I think I will push for a referral as surely in that situation it must warrant some more investigations. I know chemicals are on a completely different level from later losses, but I still hoped for a bit more compassion and support from the GP. 😔

Oh that sounds rubbish, sounds like the first GP I saw!!! Definitely try and see someone else next time if you can. She’s talking rubbish - there’s value in early testing because it does highlight issues and shows at least the sperm is meeting egg!

your progesterone looks good

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 18:28

@megan345and @ChaE05- yeah could keep testing once a day - what time of day would you pick though (seems a bit pointless to test only once a day as I’ll def miss it won’t I!?? Haha) also thinking that I’m CD21 and my predicted cycle is only 29 days - which means even if I get my peak now my luteal phase would be too short right?? Argh

Muddysocks1 · 09/06/2025 18:34

ChaE05 · 09/06/2025 18:08

Ugh it just doesn't seem very consistent practice to practice does it. This is my first private test, got the results today 54.2. They said they could write to my GP with the result.
Typically the day I would need to have my progesterone checked through the surgery...is a Saturday! So no appointments. Unsure what would happen in this situation.
So are you under the fertility clinic now? Was there a lengthy wait once referred? I hope you're doing okay as can be xx

So inconsistent! Surely if you’ve got one good progesterone test that should be enough.
we’ve been referred but it’s not been accepted so just waiting now 😬 thank you xx

I’m so sorry this happened to you. It’s emotional and hard enough this journey let alone when you’ve had two losses (and yes Miss GP they are losses as you have hope and see the future as soon as you see those lines) I’m sorry the GP you seen was unsupportive. I would definitely call the surgery and ask to see another GP. How long have you been trying for lovely?

kiki2516 · 09/06/2025 13:59

wasn't going to test today (thats a lie, I’ve been testing since 6DPO) I know I know😂 I’ve done a wee but I can’t bring myself to actually dip it😂 I feel pregnant but I don’t want the disappointment of a bfn!😩

sorry to hear so many of you are having a difficult time!♥️

Have you now done a test hun?

Iris2024 · 09/06/2025 18:56

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 18:10

Me again looking for advice about my LH tests again - I’ve been continuing to test 2 or 3 times a day and they’ve stayed low (see attached)! I’m now on CD21 of a predicted 29 day cycle - would people still keep testing???

I would probably stop and save your tests but maybe BD every other day leading to AF so you know you’re covered? Or test once a day?

I have! Got some faint lines on multiple tests🤦🏼‍♀️ so hoping over the next few days they begin to get darker🤞🏼
took an frer this morning and then the other two not long ago.
not sure if you can see the lines on these photos though!x

I think I may be having a chemical but not certain yet. I posted two days ago on this thread with a positive line and digital clearblue test.
Unfortunately my lines have been getting much lighter which doesn't bode well. I am around 4 weeks 5 days.
I have spoken with a community midwife I know and she has told me to wait another 48hrs before i test again.
She said the positives points in my favour are as follows:

  • I've not had any bleeding as of yet
  • my boobs seem to be getting more tender which means the hormones are still present.
  • the fact I got a positive on and clearblue digital, as they take a lot more HCG to show as positive.

I suppose I'm posting here to see if anyone has had a case of almost losing their lines but pulling back and having a successful?? I'm so nervous and sad, like all of you on here just want it so much.

To note - I know time of day and concentration/dehydration of urine is a factor too.

@megan345@FlyHighSky72i have short luteal phase (something I’m trying to correct) so I reckon Saturday, with spotting from Friday

sorry to everyone getting BFNs, i know it’s gutting

Ec2808 · 09/06/2025 19:43

@FlyHighSky72sounds like me this cycle i say you already ovulated and missed your peak tbh.. specially when you normally have a regular cycle…do you take your bbt?

peanutForever · 09/06/2025 19:52

@FlyHighSky72id say youve defo ovulated! Espesh if you had ewcm earlier!

@kiki2516congrats

@MrsGingerCati havent im afraid but those do sound like positive signs so fingers crossed for you, can you get in for an early scan to epu? It may reassure you a little bit x

@charlzzyour gp is shit tbh and needs to get some sensitivity training, its not overkill to just be nice and do the bloods for you, i dont get why they are reluctant. atleast you wouldnt have come away feeling rubbish, im sorry this has happened to you- you deserve to be treated better

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 21:41

@Iris2024think I’ll keep testing once a day as partner is knackered after BD-ing and I don’t think we’ve got it in us to carry on every 2 days for another 9 days 😂😂

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 21:42

@kiki2516can def see lines on all of those - congrats!

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 21:44

Thanks @megan345ill try one LH test a day around lunchtime and see what happens! Fingers crossed I’ll be one of those who ‘accidentally’ gets pregnant the month she messes it all up 🙄

@bigbird1234keep us updated!

@Ec2808yeah id be surprised if I randomly ovulated this late in my cycle - but bodies are weird!! ESP when you’re trying to conceive apparently!! How are you doing today?

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 21:45

@peanutForeverI think so too but can’t be sure! Argh!!

@Ec2808sorry forgot to reply to say no don’t take bbt as my sleep is rubbish and I get up a different times each morning because of 10 year old!!

Ec2808 · 09/06/2025 21:54

@FlyHighSky72exactly would be very strange on such a regular cycle..i deff missed mine this month because my temps are high.. feeling better today thank you for asking cd23 and just waiting for af now 🤣
oh okay that makes sense.. it’s very tiring isn’t it? I also thought i would have to bd to end of cycle and litteraly no energy left to do so 🤣🤣

BBT might still give you an idea. I wake up and temp at different times but my chart so far this month is still showing a general projection of my baseline I think. Especially if I ignore those two super low ones (later in the afternoon).

FlyHighSky72 · 09/06/2025 22:50

Thanks @EmPeEfI can def see it can be useful but I don’t have anything to take my temp with so I’d have to buy something and slightly worried it might make me a bit crazy - already on loads of supplements and eating pomegranate and beetroot and measuring LH multiple times a day! Not sure I want to add anything else to obsess about 😂

Thanks for all your messages lovely ladies. I think I've had failed implantation as it definitely started brown then just got redder and redder and heavier and heavier 😢 now got insane cramping. Just spoken to DH and think we'll just try and relax this month and no testing, although AF is due when we're on holiday so I think I'll take some tests with me.
