Hi me and DH are trying to conceive at the moment and just wondered how your symptoms appeared? Particularly early symptoms.

We're you just chilling one day at your desk and then BAM breast pain? Or was it gradual?

With my first I had some mild lower back pain and thought I had pulled something at work, then I was stood at a bus stop early one morning and could smell someone cooking curry and if I could have worked out which house it was coming from I think I could have smashed the door down and ate it! The urge to eat it was overwhelming.
Then I started getting dizziness and sore boobs.

KoalaPineapple · 04/06/2025 13:36

Gradual for me, kept getting minor indigestion that was relieved by eating and it kinda got worse for a bit but now it has settled (12 weeks preg). Boob pain was gradual too, tiredness was probably the biggest kick in the face abrupt part so far!

It was very early on and before I had done the pregnancy test, so it would have been roughly when my period was due. It felt like I was light-headed and a bit like vertigo at times. I had it on and off right up to my first scan.

ThisAmberShark · 04/06/2025 14:40

I was incredibly over emotional and crying at random things.

Ash2345f · 04/06/2025 14:43

Thankyou for sharing its very out of the norm for me - trying my best not to symptom spot but it’s easier said than done. With my first I remember I couldn’t wear my rings as they were irritating my skin and the same thing has happened this time hoping for a BFP!!!

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

RoseannesMamma · 04/06/2025 16:47

The only symptom I had before a BFP was nausea that would come and go randomly in waves (I have HG though, which can explain the early nausea!). I first noticed it 9dpo and got my BFP later that day.

Wow guys! Love reading all these posts! It's so interesting to hear stories that are slightly different from what I've heard before. I always thought it's super strong breast pain, it comes on like bang, and you just know 😅 this gives me hope.

@BeNavyLion The breast pain started like the usual breast pain I would get in the run up to my period and then it was like my breasts just kept swelling to the point that they felt like they might pop, but that point was well after my period would have been due.
It has also reminded me that my nipples changed from the usual pinky red to a subtle tan shade.

I went out for a Xmas do, thought I had the worst hangover ever (I very very rarely drink so this was a one off), by the 3rd day of being sick I done a test, turns out I was pregnant!!

Lostworlds · 04/06/2025 22:38

I had no signs whatsoever with my first baby. I even moaned to my dh about how lucky he was to be a man as my period cramps were really bad, I had such bad acne and I was in my normal period grump. I was 2 days late and was annoyed that my period looked to be going irregular again when I realised it didn’t feel like it was going to start. Took a test and it was so dark and showed up straight away, I was incredibly surprised! I had no sickness, no food aversions, no symptoms at all and very much did not feel pregnant in the slightest!

With my second pregnancy, I I just knew straight away, even my dh said he thought I was pregnant but I had no signs. Took a test a week before my period was due and there was the faintest of lines!

trubz2025 · 04/06/2025 22:55

With both of mine I kept feeling nauseous. I'm such a foodie but I was really put off by food and would say no to everything. No body changes at all and no actual being sick.

UseNailOil · 04/06/2025 22:57

Slightly sore boobs then one day woke up feeling nauseous.

24CRZZNKKA · 04/06/2025 23:10

I had a throbbing pain in my legs and lower back for a couple of days and was convinced I was coming down with a virus.

WhatMe123 · 04/06/2025 23:12

It's just the same feeling you get before your due on but the symptoms don't stop a day or so before hand they continue, so achy boobs carry on being achy, your boobs stay swollen, lots of cramps etc

TattedBarley · 04/06/2025 23:26

I felt like I was coming down with something, then woke up one day violently sick. After 3 days of being unable to leave my bed or eat anything, then realising my period hadn’t come, I had to order pregnancy tests on Deliveroo 🤣 I was only around 2 weeks pregnant at that point, I had really bad HG for my entire pregnancy. I still remember the poor delivery driver’s face upon seeing how rough I looked 🤣🤦‍♀️

raysan · 04/06/2025 23:34

Like a 'whoosh' in my uterus about 2 or 3 days before period was due (number 1). Guess that was blood flowing to implantation site in reality, but in my head it was her soul :).
And regular sore boobs like being due on, with number 2
