Ttc - does throwing up affect chances?

Hi all,

Firstly I feel I should say I'm not bulemic.

My partner and I are trying to conceive and yesterday would have been ovulation day so we DTD.

I am a gardener and grew some potatoes but couldn't remember the variety and one of my plants died (for those that don't garden, when a potato plant dies it means they are ready) I checked if the potatoes were ready and there were some new potatoes there so I boiled them and ate the skin off two of them (the skin basically fell off).

Well the problem is that potatoes can be poisonous if they are green, so much so you could die or end up in a coma. These were not green but very bitter and spicy when I ate them, which can also be a sign. Panicked, I did the only thing I could think of. I expelled the potatoes from my body as soon as I could.

Now I'm worried that making myself throw up could have somehow stopped egg being fertilised or something like that.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this? I tried to Google but it only brings up bulemia support sites which is not relevant to this.

Thank you!

Hi, 👋 would say you’re absolutely fine and don’t worry. I can’t see any way this would have had an affect!

Hi - just posting update as I always get frustrated when I go on posts from years ago but have no update from OP 😅

Basically, this was a non issue as I became pregnant this cycle 🙂. The above was DPO 1, I tested positive DPO 9
