Conceiving using Viagra

My dh expriences erectile dysfunction now and again and we have been trying to conceive for 3 months now. To eliminate the stress for both parties we have been using home insemination with a needless syringe. We visited an infertility consultant who stated that ejaculation is best as the sperm then have the power through the force of orgasm. He has suggested viagra to ensure that dh can perform on the required fertile days. Does anyone have success stories realting to this.

No personal experience but I do know that the birth rate in the US among older couples has increased dramatically thanks to those little blue pills

BTW 3 months is no time at all to conceive - it takes on average 13 months. So don't stress too much. Also whatever problems you have, they can be overcome. We have sperm issues and I'm very pregnant with our second child, it can work out.

Your consultant is being a bit disingenuous btw, sperm can actually swim and you only want the healthiest ones reaching the egg so it may actually be better if it takes them that extra six inches of swimming (of course you need to make sure you have them available BEFORE) ovulation to catch the window in this case.

Good luck.

viagra works wonders with stress related problems - the only 'problem' is it takes an hour to work so if you feel randy you have to wait....

Thanks for your help. We had a miscarriage 3 months ago. I found out at my 12 week scan and it has been such a horrible time. I think that I may have some kind of postpartum depression which is certainly not helping the situation. Off to the docs on Wed.

Thanks again
