Understanding dating scan

So I had my dating scan on the 19th of April. This put me at 13 weeks 5 days. But my LMP was 13 weeks 5 days ago. So why am I measuring at my LMP, very confused. First pregnancy… trying to understand pregnancy science

Pregnancy is dated from your LMP so that puts you right on track. Congratulations!

You are considered pregnant from the first day of your last period and dated from then. Congratulations!
