BD every day or every other?? Whats best?

When TTC is it best to BD every day or every other? I have tried lots of different websites for advice on this but all say different. What do you think?

i gonna be doing BD everyday from here on in - finished AF on Sunday, so know I'm not OV yet, but I don't like the idea of s£x to order, takes the thrill out of it me thinks. i'm just going to make myself as irresistable as possible and make this conceiving lark fun!

I think the adivce is that as long as there are no suspected problems with DH's erm... little swimmers, then every day is good, if DH has a suspected/proven low sperm count then every other day is better.

iirc it's only every other day if men's fertility is suspect, as NJ has quite correctly stated.

However, I do think every day is simply unrealistic for many couples any I find it can become a chore just like the dishes if it's every day when ttc.
Everyday when not ttc is obv a different matter

We aim for every other day when ttc and my Dh has super-sperm (if you believe him.)

But then again I'm not actively ttc so I'm having sex whenever we want it, which atm is everyday

every other day, regardless of the quality of the "boys" too often reduces the quality of the semen

Just confused cos some sites say that the quality will be reduced if you BD everyday whilst others say that is nonsense and actually BD everyday increases quality! Not sure about DH's fertility yet as recently had vasectomy reversal - hence why Im anxious! Hes loving the frequency at the moment!! No what you mean though about sex to order - not very erotic! Would never give him a list of dates! Lol! On cd7 of 28day cycle at the mo and this is cycle 2 since surgery - so very early days. Thanks for your advice x

The most recent advice is every day as long as there are no fertility issues, so if your dh has had a vasectomy reversal, then it's hard to say what's best. Probably every other day and more if you both want to.

How about for instance Monday sex, Tuesday sex, then Wednesday off.

Repeat- sex, sex, day off. Best of both worlds.

It' abbreviated for hunny, or for those of us who are both intelligent and able to spell, honey.

Like a term of endearment I suppose.

I hate it. It comes with the connotation of a slightly slack-jawed yokel for me and I find it rather hard to have a conversation with anyone who uses it tbh.

Can anyone answer the following. My question sounds very confusing I know.

If the quality is effected when bd'ing too much, but you do become pregnant anyway, would the quality of the pregancy be affected due to his quality?

PS I have heard conflicting opinions about quality too. One saying too much reduced and the other saying that it improves. I am very interested to find out as I have been trying very hard tc.

Just to blow a theory out of the water.....

My DH has a high count, slightly low morphology. Zita West has a case study of a man that doesnt have sex enough and this affected the morphology of his sperm ie. made it lower. This is because the sperm were 'cramped' and started to become deformed.

Zita West says that sex everyday is ideal, whether there is a sperm prob or not- as much sex as possible. And make it good sex.

Me and DH were TTC for 15 months and were following advice like 'save the sperm up til day before OV' and having sex every 2-3 days. No joy. Followed Zita Wests advice and got pregnant the 1st month. Had lots and lots of fab, emotional, mind blowing sex and completely forgot about making a baby.

Unfortunately, I am going through a miscarriage now but will follow this advice again when we are ready to TTC again (not for a while!)

Do whats best for you. Sex everyday for some people is just a pain. I would rather have sex when I want and have good sex and take a couple of months longer to conceive than 'force' myself to have sex for the sake of a baby!!

Hi there, I'm new.

So sorry to hear about your difficult time takemyMILoffmyhands.

Have been TTC #1 for 10 cycles now. Saw GP three months ago and she said to do it LOTS. I bought some cheap cute nighties + a mini skirt (1st one in 20 years) - so far so good

PS: What's BD and DH? I can guess but would be good to actually know...

Just keep your internal sperm collective topped up they say, so every other day shoud be fine. They'll live up there waiting for the egg apparently.
