Is this a positive test?

So I see two lines but think I am in disbelief. Can someone please confirm? Could it be a false positive? Should I try a more sensitive test and see if its clearer?

Been trying for 6 months, my period is due today and its also my 3 year wedding anniversary so my husband and I were joking that we might be getting a baby for our anniversary.

Did we get a baby for our anniversary?!?

Is this a positive test?

Yes!!! Congratulations 🥰

Definitely! Congratulations!

Temporaryname158 · 01/05/2025 06:18

Yes that’s positive.

you don’t get false positives (unless you test post pregnancy when hormones are still in the body) you either have the hormone as you are pregnant or you don’t.

dont waste money on more expensive tests, you dont need to! Congratulations

So this was first morning urine. I have loads of these cheap pregnancy tests, if I do another one soon could it show a false negative as urine might me be more diluted?

As you can probably tell this is my first time trying to conceive at 33 and I was fully expecting it to take much longer so I'm beyond shocked!

@ThreeCeruleanElk if you do a couple of hours hold then you should get an accurate result, I always got my stronger lines by doing that, but everyone is different. Congratulations & happy anniversary!

Thank you! I've managed to resist doing another test all day so think I will wait until the morning now. Defo gonna do another one as we are getting our hopes up a lot and I would like a really clear line to feel like its real🙏

I have read about evaporation lines causing false positives, does anyone know if that's common? Major anxiety and overthinking right now

Evaps are unfortunately very common but they are usually thin/grey. Your line has nothing to say it's an evap & as long as it came up within the time frame I'd say you are pregnant☺️

Thank you for the reassurance! I set a timer and checked near on straight away and defo before the 10 minutes the test instructions say it's invalid after. It did get darker after the 10 minutes which I found reassuring but all so confusing. Now just to wait until the morning and pray for a darker line.

@ThreeCeruleanElk very common for it to get darker as it dries, but as long as it was there before the time that's what matters most. How did you get on this morning?

Thank you so much, really helping to put my mind at ease. I tried a different test this morning and another faint line again so somewhat reassuring! I do just want a really clear positive line for peace of mind but it is only day 2 of my missed period so I'm probably super early x

@ThreeCeruleanElk no problem, it's a worrying time! The CB digital ultra early are really good, you will get a positive result on that I'm sure, I had a really faint line on a cheapie and got a positive that same afternoon. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you, I was thinking about getting a clear blue to confirm! I bought a bunch of cheap ones when we first started trying but now might be time to spring for an expensive one!

2 very strong positives! Congratulations op 🥰

GalaxyWasOnOffer · 02/05/2025 12:28

I’d say both lines are pretty strong for this stage @ThreeCeruleanElk- congratulations on your pregnancy & on your anniversary!

Thank you! I think I'm just worried about getting my hopes up just in case but maybe I need to be more positive thinking!
