How many weeks are you now? You could book an early test for 6.5/7 weeks?

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 29/12/2025 13:36

@SureLook there aren't any private scanning places here. I think the nearest is about a 6 hour round trip. But the NHS might give me one due to multiple MCs I think. I'm only 5 weeks so I think it would be mid January.

SureLook · 29/12/2025 21:36

@GrizzlyTheBear oh god, that is very far. Yeah, good thinking. They should definitely offer you an early scan. It's worth a call to them anyway.

Happy New Year ladies 🥳 how are you doing?

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 05/01/2026 08:43

Happy New Year! 🎊 Hope this year is a good one for all of us.

I'm fine. I'm six weeks, thinking about whether I want an early scan (well I do want one, but wondering if it's worth a day of annual leave and finding someone to do a whole day of childcare)!

How far along are you now @SureLook?

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 are you coming up to ovulation? How was your Christmas?

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 05/01/2026 12:17

Happy New Year :)

God knows where i am in my cycle - i had that little light bleed a week earlier than when my period was due and nothing since - if i count that as a period then today i am CD 18 - ive been testing with my ovulation strips so at least i can see when thats a positive.

How are you feeling about everything @GrizzlyTheBear ?

How many weeks are you now @SureLook

GrizzlyTheBear · 05/01/2026 13:49

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 oh that is so frustrating 😡 Ovulation strips is definitely the way to go then isn't it. It must be driving you mad.

I don't know how I feel still. I can't help being pessimistic after three miscarriages and thinking it won't work out anyway. Maybe I should make the effort to get to the hospital for the 7 week scan and that might help with how I'm feeling, either way.

SureLook · 08/01/2026 18:59

Sorry, gals! I've had a busy few days.

@GrizzlyTheBear the logistics is a nightmare for you to get a scan. But like you say, going for a scan at 7 weeks will probably help your feelings. I understand how you feel, though. It's hard to be positive given our history. But we'll be here for you!

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 that is very annoying to not know where you are in your cycle. I wonder what that little bleed was about? Keep up with the ovulation strips and see where you are.

I'm 24 weeks now so it's all feeling very real all of a sudden. Especially with Christmas out of the way now. I had a GP check today and all is fine!

Hi everyone,
I’ve been keeping an eye on here every now and again to see how you’re all doing, apologies for disappearing but I was still lurking! I am pregnant, I am very anxious but I thought I’d pop back on to this thread to say hello and to lean in for some support from those of you who know so much more than I do!
@SureLook I was so happy to see your dad was doing better over Christmas, I hope it continues.

SureLook · 08/01/2026 21:20

@Clara202 hello! I was wondering how you were doing and hoping it was good news! I'm so so happy for you. Massive congratulations! Remind me, did you start IVF or what happened in the end?
Thanks for the kind words about my Dad also x

GrizzlyTheBear · 09/01/2026 08:45

@Clara202 lovely to see you back! Congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉 How far along are you?

@SureLook 24 weeks is a huge milestone, well done! How much have you told your wee one?

SureLook · 09/01/2026 14:05

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, it is, isnt it? I'm glad to have finally reached here! My DD knows she has a little sister coming and that she's in my belly. But that's it really. The reality will be somewhat different 😂

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 09/01/2026 17:30

@SureLook you're not wrong 🤣 But hopefully mostly it will be fine. My first loved #2 from the get go, so it can happen! 🤞

Clara202 · 09/01/2026 18:31

@GrizzlyTheBear @SureLook thank you! I’m 16 weeks. Thought the anxiety would dissipate after the 12 week scan but I do still find myself second guessing every symptom, or every lack of symptom. I get a little relief after every scan but it always seems to be a long wait to the next one!

GrizzlyTheBear · 09/01/2026 18:37

@Clara202 oh, 16 weeks is well along. Chances are everything will be fine from here ❤️ It's the only bit of pregnancy which was blissfully free of irritating symptoms for me, so I enjoyed that bit 😂

SureLook · 09/01/2026 22:02

@GrizzlyTheBear ah, cute! Fingers crossed I get the same experience 🤞🏻

@Clara202 I totally understand the anxiety but the chances of anything happening now are so slim. My consultant told me at 14 weeks that I'm safe now and everything will be fine. Are you going to find out what you're having?

OP posts:
Clara202 · 10/01/2026 12:31

@SureLook no I don’t think so! We were tempted at the screening to tick the box but we decided not to in the end.
My consultant actually told me the same thing but earlier again, wonder if we have the same one😂 doesn’t stop me spiralling though.

SureLook · 10/01/2026 23:51

@Clara202 ah, its nice to have a surprise too!
Maybe we do 👀 what hospital are you attending?
I didn't think I'd stop spiralling either but I actually have now. I was very calm going into the anatomy scan cause I knew in my gut that everything was OK. Have you felt any movements yet? I didn't feel anything on my first until 18 weeks.

OP posts:
Clara202 · 11/01/2026 00:00

@SureLook I’ll dm you the details, we can see if we match 👀
No I haven’t felt anything but I’m assuming it’s still early for that. I could be feeling something and mistaking it for something else because I know they can be quite subtle to begin with. I have always had the anatomy scan as my personal milestone, I know things can still happen after that but I think I’d feel a bit more relaxed after that big scan was done and have everything be ok.

SureLook · 11/01/2026 07:30

@Clara202 yes, do!
Yeah, it's definitely too early. Especially on your first. They're just like little flutters at the start so you might think it was gas or something else 😂
Do you know where your placenta is? That can affect how you feel movements too.
The anatomy scan is a big milestone alright. Its lovely being able to see them for longer.

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 16/01/2026 09:01

@Clara202 I think it was nearly 21 weeks before I felt anything with my first (anterior placenta) so you might have ages yet. But yes, the gas bubbles are the first feeling you get.

I had a scan this week and things look fine. Which I kind of didn't expect. I'm still in feelings limbo!

SureLook · 16/01/2026 12:07

@GrizzlyTheBear ah, that's brilliant that everything looked ok. The feelings limbo might be you just protecting yourself!

OP posts:
VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 16/01/2026 12:31

Ah that's lovely @GrizzlyTheBear !
I'm 9dpo today, trying desperately not to symptom spot but I've felt nauseous the past 2 days and my boobs are so sore ! I'm not due on till Wednesday!
Also the baby I lost last summer would have been due next week so I'm really struggling with that.
I just dont know what to do, the upset each month is making me wonder if it's all worth it 😔

GrizzlyTheBear · 16/01/2026 13:25

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 Aw it's so hard isn't it. It really knocks you every single month. The anniversaries are tough too. I think we were all supposed to have January babies weren't we? Tbh I think more about the loss before that, which should have come in spring last year - I sometimes think, we should have an eight month old by now. I don't think you can help thinking it.
How many cycles have you been trying now since your last loss?

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 16/01/2026 13:57

This is my 6th cycle since then. I think about my missed misscarriage and the due date was March but I was already pregnant again with my now 3 year old so i feel like it took the edge off the upset.
