Clearblue Fertility monitor - lots of highs but no peak??

Hi, am on 2nd month using CBFM. I have pretty regular 29 day cycle and last month got highs on CD 9 and 10, peak 11 and 12, high 13. This month, started with highs at day 8, but now on day 17 and still no peak!! Am pretty sure I don't OV this late so what I am wondering is, is it possible for CBFM to miss OV, or have I def. not OV'ed this cycle? DH was away for most of the week so not much chance to do teh deed anyhow but would just like to know if CBFM can have missed it!

hi roque, i also use the clearblue. from what i understand, as long as you test using your first urine in the morning, it should be accurate. so if you did not get a peak, it means that a LH surge was not detected. you can tell by looking at the test stick anyway. when you get a LH surge, both lines are equally blue - very dark blue. you only get this during a LH surge. the next day, the monitor will give you another peak, but note that only one line will be dark blue. and other line will be less dark. early on eg dy9, this line will be even less dark.

sorry to say, but it is possible to not ovulate in a cycle.

Hi heron! Yes, I fear that I may well not have OV'ed this cycle - ah well. As I said dh was away for most of the relevant time so not ideal anyhow! Just clutching at straws really as i have seen from reading other threads that it is possible to "miss" the LH surge if you use OPKs , just wondered if this could apply to CBFM. Anyway will keep on POAS for a couple of days just in case OV is very late indeed...

Cross posted with you Chequers... congrats on your pregnancy and a hopeful tale for us CBFM users!!

hi roque, how are you doing? i am fine, much more relaxed this 3rd cycle ttc. not thinking about "am i or not?" every second of the day!

like chequers said, it is easier to test by dipping test stick in pot. that is what i do. i have a plastic container that is solely for this purpose! i tell you, all this urine collection is just preparation for when we are pregnant. every visit to doc starts with a trip to the loo to collect urine sample!

I used the monitor for a year or there abouts, i've had several cycles where it moniter just gave me a high throughout the month the most recent was a month i did get a surge on opks and had a progesterone reading of 35 on day 21 do i did ovulate even if the monitor didnt pick it up.

I have actually stopped using it now, i dont find the results reliable for the above reason. I've gone back to cheap ebay opks.

Hmm well I have used this monitor for one 'cycle'. I had been using the clearblue digital (which has always showed ovulation for me at about day 28). As it told me I started on day 6 and immediately got 'High fertility'. I then kept testing every day for 20 days, each day it told me 'High' until the last day when it suddently went down to low. Then it told me I should expect my period.

Well after 9 weeks it never came. I was having bloods done for the fertility clinic so I know I had not ovulated up to day 42.

But then another 3 weeks after that I had a positive pregnancy test, so obviously had ovulated, but at a really odd time (very strange long cycle, never had this before). Unfortunately the pregnancy did not continue for very long but it was defnitely positive (had bloods to prove it).

So this is very odd!

Am not using it this month a I didn't know when to set day 1 as I had been pregnant. So I am back to the Clearblue digital - the showed a positive ovulation at day 21 this time, so God knows what is going on!

Thanks everyone for comments, sorry I havent been back to reply but my broadband has been down - aargh!! It's all really interesting and has given me some hope that I may have ov'ed after all....although, as I said before, dh was away at what I think was the relevant time and since then too knackered and busy with work... heron, glad you are feeling chilled this month, I am a bit more relaxed too, work is doing a good job of keeping my mind off ttc! Plus, we are away on hols next week, so no chance to POAS until I am 2 days late (on about CD 19 now and still no peak from cbfm!)

Hi ladies, I am very distressed as i'm 36 years old and using Clearblue Digital Bluetooth tests for the first time.
It read HIGH fertility on days 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 of my cycle
we did the BD on days 16, 17, 18, 19, 22 of my cycle and
today is day 23 and it says 'too late in cycle to test'
It never gave a peak fertility day!

I'm panicking now about missed ovulation?
I'm hoping I ovulated and perhaps the test just didn't pick it up.
I wasn't tracking my temperature, if I was I might know the answer..
really distressed

I had a miscarriage in July
I got pregnant on Day 14 of May's cycle
Period May 13- got pregnant May 18

I'm so confused because obviously in May I was most fertile days 14-15 so why would I be fertile later now?

MonkeyToucher · 22/10/2018 09:19

Don’t panic, the clear blue tests don’t necessarily detect your peak! The first month I used them I had 8 days of high and no peak - I definitely ov’d because I got pregnant that cycle!

As long as you have been dtd over the middle of your cycle you should be covered x

Achi · 06/11/2018 22:12

I’ve just started using the clear blue advanced monitor, my first cycle. I also have been logging my temperature, checking my cervix and cervical mucus. I had a sharp twinge in my ovary at 3.30am, woke me up. And a jump in temp in the morning. After a few days of high previous to this. I thought today must be my peak. But no peak. So took a regular opk test, 2 types, both came up positive! On top of that my libido was mega high too 😜. So what’s going on with the monitor. Could it be faulty, has anyone contacted clear blue about their issues with the monitor?

Achi · 06/11/2018 22:38

Should have said a small dip in temperature, then it went back up again

EmmaHawk · 28/11/2018 10:34

Hi, hoping to join on the thread here.

I’m on day 20 of cycle, usually 31 day cycle. Have had high tests on clear blue monitor since day day 8 but still no peak?

Wondered too about the reliability of the clear blue monitor but haven’t contacted them yet....

Also not sure I’ve had any cm to note and have been trying to check temperatures but they seem to be all over the place too!

LauraR2018 · 21/02/2019 07:28

I am starting to get really disheartened I’ve started using the CBFM this month I got my first high reading on CD 13 and today is CD 21 and it’s still reading high, would you normally get a peak this late into your cycle, does this mean I haven’t ovulated, I’m getting myself so worked up and upset thinking that there maybe something wrong with me. I’m 34 nearly 35 and am worried I’ve left it to late to try, has anyone had a similar experience but ended up been pregnant x

jess0212 · 21/02/2019 15:50

Hello,
Frist of all, I just joined mumsnet today and I have already learned so much!!!
I have been tracking my ovulation consistently for the last year and half and I have always gotten a peak until now! I received my first IUI on (2/15), I had my first positive on the 14th and again on the 15th. I have continued to test every morning and I continue to get a positive result. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced weird results following an IUI?? I just find it very strange that the same month I received the IUI was the first time I did not have a peak day.

LauraR2018 · 18/03/2019 06:39

Hi this is my second month of using the cbfm and I’m on cd 17 today and still had no peak, I did not have a peak last month either, I’m am getting so upset and stressed as I’m starting to think I’ve waited to long to ttc I’m almost 35 and really scared that something is wrong with me x

Ramya02 · 21/05/2019 16:53

Weeanabell · 25/08/2019 05:38

Hiya, I’m currently on my 3rd month of using Chlomid as I didn’t ovulate, and using the clearblue fertility monitor, ive had 6 days of “highs” but no peak which really should be today, is anyone else in the same boat? I’m worried the chlomid isn’t working even though I had bloods done the first month and it said I’d ovulated? I’m 35, 36 in March and feeling anxious it’s too late 😔

Sparkle0109 · 25/08/2019 08:16

When I used CBFM it took a few cycles until I got a peak so what I've read it takes a few cycles to ' learn your cycle '

I used clearblue ovulation sticks along with the monitor and got a peak on that as well as a temp rise when doing BBT so I knew I 100% ovulated. Try and stick with it in my opinion it's worth using

Ramya05 · 05/05/2020 22:43

Hi guys,
I am 35 year old. I am so much stressed because of the clearblue ovulation test which I am using. I am getting smiley face from past 7 days but no peak fertility. Do you think these clearblue kits are reliable. I am using any ovulation kit for the first time.
