First time temping - need some help understanding it

This is my first month temping, I have been using my watch and a thermometer every morning 6am, I have very sporadic cycles, some months they're 24 days next month could be 34, they've been 30 days long the past 3 months so that's why I started temping, I'll post a picture of my chart, it spikes up at day 9 implying I ovulated around then, since then my temps have been getting lower and haven't gone back up, I already suspect I have low progesterone but this month I've got sore boobs, burning nips, I'm struggling to stay awake after work, something just doesn't seem right 😪 2nd year ttc, had a mmc last year and nothing since then, I'm taking multivitamins daily with an extra vitamin d
According to my chart I'm now 6dpo but I'm not sure if I can go off that or just go off my boob pain that started yesterday morning?

Hi @Blob23 this is also my first cycle tracking BBT.
From what I have read online usually you get BBT spike day after ovulation day, which would mean your LH peak day was CD8.
Although that seems really early in a cycle. Is that normal for you? Do you track LH too?

I usually use the digital ovulation tests by clearblue and they showed a peak usually between day 12 - 18 as i have odd cycles, but I'd ran out this month so decided to try temping with my watch, I thought that's what it showed too but is day 8 not too early? I feel like i have ovulated, getting mild cramps the past 2 days so not sure if that's now ovulation, just very confused and don't understand why my temps are going down instead of up 🙈 thank you for replying xx

Unfortunately it's going to be impossible to tell until after the fact, which is why bbt can be so frustrating!

Personally (as in, if I were you) if the OPKs generally show consistent ovulation between CD12-18 I would assume that the first dip/rise was not your ovulation as your temperatures haven't stayed raised, and I would say the dip you're currently experiencing could be ovulation. But I don't know your other symptoms - my boob pain tends to start on the day of ovulation so it's quite consistent and I'd rely on that as backup in this sort of situation. But I'd make sure I had sex around any dip tbh if only using bbt this month.

Are there any other reasons your temp could have risen for a couple of days? Bad sleep, inconsistent temp taking, feeling a bit unwell (hayfever?), terrible sleep, stress etc?

I've just looked back at your graph and I wasn't really correct to refer to today's temperature as a dip as it's just returned to baseline hasn't it. I don't know, sorry! Confusing graph for you this month. Bodies are a PITA.

I’m not an expert but I’d say you haven’t actually ovulated yet! Maybe those cramps you’ve had the last few days are ovulation like you say, so you might see a rise in the next day or 2. I think if you’d ovulated cycle day 9 your temps would of stayed high longer than 3 days
